I might have done the same thing but for the fact that I was out until 4:00AM for Passover & then stayed up to watch AND tape the Today Show. I came SO close to falling asleep on the couch just before they were introduced --- would have been so mad! The worst was when Matt said they'd do one more song in an hour, just when I thought I could go to sleep. (I could have, but I don't trust VCR programming, especially when I'm tired.)

You have my sympathy! (Small consolation that everybody thinks half the songs were poorly done.)

I almost did this! I turned on my alarm for 7:00 am and I woke up, turned on the TV, then thought, "Well, FM won't be on for a while. I'll just lie back and relax and wait for them to come on..." SNOOZE. A "coming up" clip comes on and my eyes pop open and I'm like "ARE THEY ON NOW?!! DID I MISS THEM?!" I about had a coronary. lol Of course, it turned out they were simply announcing they would be on "in the next half hour." Thank goodness for the heads up, is all I can say, or I would have been kicking myself all day!
