This has to be an album and it doesn't involve Fleetwood Mac. It's either solo or duet album.

Maybe Stevie doesn't want Say You Will to be the last record she ever recorded.

This is so exciting with all the real time social networking tweets and updates like mentioned before. Stevie may not connect like this but is so refreshing to see other artists do this to create buzz. Plus, you can't really stop anyone from saying they worked with Stevie unless she has legal gag orders, but why would you want to do that? So, these little updates are so refreshing since we never seem to get updates like this via her official web site. Plus it is fantastic that other people still are blown away by Stevie's talent. Yay!

This really does seem to have a more solo Stevie vibe to it with the people she is working with. I am just so happy Stevie is working and being creative again and working with people that embrace social media and the new recording technologies that are out there.

I am so excited to see what comes out of all of this.

Yeah, I've said that for the past couple of years too. Which is why her working on an apparent solo album is a bit surprising for me. Seems she was supremely happy with TISL... but very discontent with SYW. If I were in her shoes I'd probably try to do one last Mac album and leave that career on a high note. But perhaps she's given up on that happening, given all of the modern day politics when it comes to Fleetwood Mac. Who knows though, she could just be recording demos right now in preparation for a Mac project. She may not be working on a solo project at all. Either way, as long as we get some sort of new material from Ms Nicks, I'll be supremely happy!

This is so exciting but its still a bit foggy to me. Could someone ask him to clarify what exactly the end goal is for these songs. Is it a Stevie Nicks album, with Dave Stewart as the main producer. Is it some sort of combo album.

Yeah, that would be great if he'd tell us. I get the feeling he wants to keep it a little mysterious though. Likes our interest whetted, but not satisfied.

I'm speculating a bit here, as we all are, But the fact that Dave just tweeted yesterday that he & Stevie have "recorded" 4 songs, leaves me to believe that these are more than demo's. And since Mick has announced recently that FM is taking @ 18 months off, It makes reasonable sense that these newly recorded songs are for a Stevie Nicks solo project. Dave is probably being elusive regarding direct answers, because things can always change or be scrapped, or perhaps these two are just co-writing and he is arranging, but the sessions are being produced by someone else like Glen Ballard (The white room Stevie & Dave have been working in looks to be his studio! check out his website http://www.glenballard.com/).

Dave leaked a snippet of "Everybody Loves You" on March 5th, they had been working together at least since Feb. 23rd (when they wrote ELY) plus another 4 more songs before the leak. So gathering from the amount of time that they have spent since the leak, they probably have polished off and recorded 4 songs w a rough mix.

Stevie likes to work quickly, she doesn't like to labor away in the studio for months on end, which makes her & Dave perfect partners. Stevie probably has a backlog of new material she has written esp. during the 2009 tour that she wants to get out, and obviously it isn't going to be with Fleetwood Mac.

Remember when Mick said in an interview last December as the tour was winding down, that they were going to have a group meeting in January to decide what was next for FM as far as new recording's & touring (also note the Eagles double bill tour fell through). Well, based on Mick's assertion recently that they are taking a break for 18 months if not longer, things did not turn out well for FM in that january meeting, probably esp. between Stevie & Lindsey.

I thought the whole point of FM touring before doing an alleged album was to get the creative juices flowing and "get to know each other again" so going into studio would be an easier and more natural affair. So, I would think that if they were indeed going to make an album, they would have started it right after the tour, when their creativity and inner band relationships were at their strongest. If they wait a year or more, that defeats the whole purpose of the tour-before-the-album mentality.

I've been think a lot lately about Stevie's signing at Barnes and Noble and how that event may have played a role in herrecent writing and recording. I wasn't there, but judging from the pics, she seemed really, really happy to be there. I think maybe that signing and the other promo events for Soundstage may have made her realize the power of her solo fan base and how much we want her to do another solo album. I could be totally wrong here, but I just get the feeling that being "one on one" with her fans for those few hours at B&N may have given her a much needed kick to get back in the studio.

I think Stevie is a workaholic, and when the boys in the band want to take a break, it's a signal for her to make a solo record. She's a driving and very prolific when it comes to working. If you think about all the tours and records, her life is music.

What about that 2004-2009 break?

She definitely toured her ass off this decade, I give her that. She's had very little idle time it seems. I'm sure there aren't a whole lot of 60 something women out there in any profession who put as much of their life into their work as Stevie does. But she has always made it a point to drive home what a prolific songwriter and recording artist she is... and this decade she's fallen way, way short of anything close to that definition.

I'm not recommending that anyone should do a stakeout, but the location of the studio, The High Window (co-owned by Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard), is practically given away (coughhollywoodandnorthcahuengacough):

http://ethrill.net/2009/11/09/a-look...llards-studio/

Absolutely DO NOT go there with your telescopic camera lenses and directional listening devices! And by all means DO NOT climb up the fire escape in the back of the building and plant microphones around the sixth floor! Just say no! Nobody here is interested in seeing/hearing any of this footage!
