Does anyone have any information about what the next single will be from the new album? I am hoping for "Say You Will" or "Thrown Down". I really like both of those alot and they seem pretty "radio friendly".

I think they are both radio friendly, but I have to question if "Say You Will" will go over as well on some of the formats as "Peacekeeper" has? I know at least here, Peacekeeper is played at least once (that I hear it) per day on our classic rock station. Usually it is billed as "Fleetwood Mac yesterday (where they'll play generally GYOW, Second Hand News, IDWTK, GDW), and then after it will be like "and Fleetwood Mac...TODAY."
They've really been into this "old band, new songs" stuff lately, they always play Peacekeeper, and then at other points during the day they'll throw in a new song from Styx and from the Allman Bros. However, I don't really see Say You Will getting a lot of rock airplay. At least not classic rock, maybe soft, elton-john-ish type rock. |

I'm thinking it's going to be Say You Will simply because I saw a commercial on VH1 during the Top 20 Countdown today for FM's new album, and they said "featuring Peacekeeper (small clip) and Say You Will (small clip)." Usually the "featuring" on ads and cd covers means those are the singles. For example, when TISL came out, it had on it "featuring Planets of the Universe, Every Day, and Sorcerer," and those ended up being the three singles. So I'm guessing it's Say You Will...
This kind of leads me to wonder though if they are halting at two singles, since they only named two featured songs. That kind of sucks if they don't do at least three singles.

I think "Whats the World Coming To" is the best choice - of the song's I've heard completely. "Thrown Down" is terrific, but I think "Whats the World Coming To" would make one of those great, driving with the windows down and the music blaring on a warm summer night songs. After hearing the complete track, it's my favorite so far.. definitely a nag champa moment.
But, I'm sure the next single will be a Stevie song and will probably be "Say You Will." Sorcerer is right, if the song is titled on a featuring label on the cd cover, it will probably be one of the singles. Folks will be looking for the cd with the songs they hear, if they hear, on the radio. I love the angel feel to "Say You Will" but I find "Smile at You" to be the most intoxicating of the new Stevie tracks. I finally acquired a much better quality sounding version, and have now come to love the chorus and the menage of sounds going on. The chorus definitely ties the song together. Stevie's voice belongs next to Lindsey's guitar. Radio will probably be expecting another one of those flowerly love ballads from Stevie :-) , but might be pleasantly surprised with Smile at You. Roll the dice, record execs.. My money's on Say You Will. but, I haven't heard "Illume" yet.. looking forward to that track. |

It's gonna be Say You Will. It has to be a Stevie song this time, and it is catchy as hell.

Here's hoping for "Say You Will". It is one catchy/comtemporary Mac tune in my opinion. I really think it's going to do well...actually better than PK will. PK is kind of a downer/dark song while SYW is fun and upbeat...something we all need right now........

I'm also gonna say that Say You Will will be the next single. It is very catchy. They play Peacekeeper here on the classic rock station, the lite-FM station and the pop station. I hear it at least once a day on each of those stations. Say You Will might follow in the same way.. I can definitely see it being played on at least two of those stations.

I think it will probably be "Say You Will". They already featured it on That 70's Show, and that makes me think they have already decided on releasing it as a single.
I wish Thrown Down and Smile At You would get some airplay. I love the "new" Smile At You, but I don't know how well it would go over on radio. It may not be the "classic Mac" sound that people are expecting.

To be fair in the scheme of things, it would have to be a Stevie song but I haven't heard Say You Will yet so I don't have it to compare to Thrown Down which I have heard and it is good. I hope What's The World Coming To is in line for the third single from the album

"Say You Will" because of the catchiness and the commercial side.
And it's a damn good pop song, anyway. ![]() Song of the moment - The Second Time

to say a good single for "Pop radio" would be "Say You Will"...But I would like to hear "Destiny Rules" released to "rock" radio. I know the classic rock stations would play the holy crap outta "Destiny Rules", Brian J.
