I see the Twitter thread keeps getting deleted, but I would rather have a thread strictly for Dave's Twitter updates, and let this thread continue to denigrate even lower with those who are trashing Stevie.

That way, those of us who are excited about Stevie recording new music can geek out with each new message from Dave!!!

Wow! This is moving quickly and seems like we might actually get a new cd before too long! I hate being skeptical...but Stevie writes and records often (well...kinda often) and then we don't hear the songs for years...if ever! This project with Dave appears may actually see the light of day!

The song doesn't make me do cartwheels by any means but I have been humming it ever since I played it about 15 minutes ago. I think it's got potential...those lyrics may need some work.

What is impressing far more than the snippet of Everybody Loves You is the amount of information that's being made available to us. Granted, Dave Stewart is at the helm but Stevie must be aware of all the communication going on. It seems our girl is finally beginning to embrace modern technology and all its wonders. I think this is a huge step for someone who once said she thought the internet was "evil" (or something to that effect). I am so thrilled she's back writing and recording but I'm even more excited that we, her fans, are being invited along for the ride this time!!

I don't understand your hostility toward Dave Stewart at all. Maybe reconsider the catolog of Stevie's songs. Her most successful ones were not at all "rockers." Look at the one song people seem to most copy and perform: "Landslide." Rocker? Nope.

believe it or not.....I don't really like Landslide.

I feel like EVERYONE has to cover it and EVERYONE knows it!

and regarding Dave Stewart, don't ask me why, i just don't like him. Never have, never will...i can't put my finger on why, though

This little snippet has really grown on me...I think it has lots of potential and can't wait to hear more. And as much as I love Sharon and Lori, it is very nice to hear her recording with a new voice.

Stevie changes tense on just about every single song she writes. Haven't you noticed? You can just about guarantee that she'll throw in an 'I,' 'you' and 'she' in the same song and be talking about herself the entire time

Thank you! I'm realy liking this demo. It sounds lovely and perhaps a return to Stevie singing some proper harmony.. she really is amazingat it and should do it more often.

To clear it up, changing tense is when you switch between past, present, and future: I went, I will go, I have gone.

Changing person is when you switch between: I, he, she, they.

Stevie definitely does both, but I don't think changing person is as distracting as when she shifts tense. The worst case of her switching tense, that I can think of, is in the demo "Have No Heart". When she sings "She WAS 14 NOW", it should be either "WAS, THEN" or "IS, NOW". OK, that's my Lindsey grammatical gripe.

I'm liking the vibe of this snippet we've heard and what comes to mind is the demo recording of "She Loves Him Still". Someone should tweet Dave and suggest he ask Stevie about this particular song. I'm thinking that he would really dig it and perhaps record it essentially as it is - sparse and acoustic. No harm in asking... (I would but I don't have a twitter account).
