Agreed, Taylor Swift is getting hit hard now, and look at what ANY support leads--another foot in the mouth. Taylor's PR people took a shot at American Idol and got hit back hard: Kelly Clarkson has taken to her blog in umbrage over Taylor Swift's record label chief's dismissive remarks yesterday about American Idol. While defending Swift's much-criticized Grammy performance, Big Machine Records CEO Scott Borchetta, said, "This is not American Idol. This is not a competition of getting up and seeing who can sing the highest note." On behalf of all Idol singers, Kelly wrote: ... you know what, we not only hit the high notes, you forgot to mention we generally hit the 'right' notes as well. Every artist has a bad performance or two and that is understandable, but throwing blame will not make the situation at hand any better -USA Today Stevie may reach out to Swift on a personal note-- that we will probably never hear. Look at all the criticism Stevie has taken while being successful for decades, as a solo performer and with FM. You know what I mean, goat singer, gravel voice, fat lady, etc. If Taylor can't take a little heat (and she really didn't hit the notes, as Clarkson observes), she shouldn't be in the business. You gotta have some stones to make it in this business. But it's fair to note: Taylor isn't whining to the press. Her PR people are. They should shut up. It'll blow over. Until the tour reviews come in, that is. |

Sure she should, get her name in the @#$ papers. Every time she out there in the media she'll sell one or two more Crystal Visions, Chicagos, Timespaces...and everyone needs a little fresh incoming cash. If she talks to one media outlet then she's helping the economy, if she doesn't, then they have won (whoever 'they' are).

After her performance Clarkson was backstage and she was asked what she thought about how Taylor Swift had been criticized because in her duet with Stevie Nicks at the Grammy Award Show she had hit a total of 34 bad notes.
Clarkson asked who had counted them. She was quickly informed that Stevie Nicks had counted them. Clarkson could not believe that Nicks had actually counted Taylor hitting 34 bad notes while she herself was singing. When informed that she (Clarkson) forgets that Stevie Nicks has been singing for almost 50 years Clarkson merely said, "Oh wow, well I guess that she can sing and count bad notes at the same time huh, my bad." http://www.thespoof.com/news/spoof.c...dline=s4i68339 |

I hope that's not true. That Stevie actually counted bad notes. There was an article in my paper today about the flap. I'm just glad that no one is blaming Stevie. No matter what the record company says about mic issues or sound problems, Taylor didn't sing that well. But she's young, Rhiannon is a hard song to sing and I think it was a poor choice on songs.

I think I am in agreement with most here, that Stevie should stay out of it ... If she said something negative it would just come across as ungracious, and if she said something positive, well, it would just be stupid
So silence, in this case, is golden, indeed, IMHO, anyway... |

I couldn't find the other thread to put this in.
Put I think it would've been better if she did this with Lady Gaga, doing Stand back, then one of her songs. I think that would've gone over better |

Open Letter from Stevie Nicks to Taylor Swift
Hello Taylor Swift. Its me. I’m just taking some time away from my cauldron to thank you for the Grammys performance. It’s great to finally have the video proof that singing talent just isn’t what it used to be. Did I bet my friends 4 boxes of patchouli incense that I would rock your small world? Let’s just say that the layer of mist coming towards you isn’t an evil skunk Weather Machine created fog. What a joy it was to cringe near you as you gyrated and howled! It reminded me of the time I dated a white belt in Karate who had tourettes. I imagine that if you shared dinner the way you ’share’ a stage, you’d pull the half chewed couscous from my mouth and then make your ’sexy’ face while stabbing your fork into my neck. By the way, I can’t make your BBQ party this weekend. I’d made arrangements for a seance that conflicts. I’ll be trying to resurrect your future career. But in all seriousness, I really do want to thank you for allowing me to be the last person to perform with you. Because after people see the mockery you made of yourself and told me through body language that you wanted me to hide behind the backup singers, no one except maybe Lindsay Lohan will ever come close to you again. And Lindsay will only be approaching you to ask for money and Vagisil. I have no hard feelings towards you. I hope to see you on page 48 of Teen People striking your best “I’m a down home idiot” pose often. Oh and you know how people say “Don’t quit your day job?” you should quit your day job. Pick up a night shift at a Jamba Juice or somewhere you won’t be asked to sing and if you do sing they’ll have a walk in refrigerator they can lock you in. Yours, Stevie http://mindflowers.net/2010/02/06/op...-taylor-swift/ |

Yeah, the articles are still up. However, if you check google by hour. It's pretty much dead. Not really anything new, except they replaced Stevie's photos with freaking Kelly Clarkson. She had to get her face involved!

Stevie could say something like, "Gossip aside, I can assure you that I enjoyed working with Taylor Swift every bit as much as I've ever enjoyed working with Lindsey Buckingham."
