Exactly the way I feel. Luckily I'm self employed. But I do all my work in the afternoon.

I'm also self-employed. I discovered that while being freelance can be scary, it's worth it to me to be able to yell "I DO WHAT I WANT" and mean it, even though this time of year is never kind to those in my field.

Me too, on the self-employed. Noon, is the earliest, I EVER want to be up. I'm just not a morning person, and I never will be. And I knew, at about 14, that I HAD to find a job that didn't involve mornings. I literally SHUDDER, just thinking about mornings! Bleck!

I'm happy getting up between 7:30 & 8, having breakfast, showering, getting dressed, & starting my day!
But sometimes I like to get up at dawn to do some yoga or meditation, which puts my soul in balance with my body.

You are a busy bee! I suppose I am also that busy, but just on the opposite side of the clock. I go to sleep after I get the kids on the bus and then wake up when they get home to do dinner, homework, cleaning, etc, until I shove them into bed and then I get my work-work done.
I've been dreaming a lot about zombie invasions lately, but that's just cos I've been playing too much Resident Evil 5. Quote:

I've read all about this as well, but I've read more on the part that elementary aged children can actually function better in mornings, while high schoolers function better later on. I've always thought school start times were a bit backward in that elemenetary started after the high school. It really should be the other way around. I see the point in starting high school earlier though, because it gets them ready for the real world and having to get up and be somewhere first thing. (well, for most jobs...) But for my daughter, she would function better if she could stay awake long enough to pass her algebra class... haha!

Yeah, little kids are awesome at getting up really early. My son will be 10 soon, and I've noticed over the years, though, that he's less and less spry in the AM. He used to bounce out of bed at 6 AM like nobody's business. I've always thought it was backwards, too, but I think they have the high school kids go earlier so they can get out earlier to maybe watch little brothers and sisters after school or go to a job or something? I know that around here, the high school bus drops off the older kids and that gives them about 20 minutes or more before the little kids' bus comes and drops them off. It's probably also to do with getting ready for the real world, too, though. All through high school, I got stuck with physics or bio or chem or statistics first thing in the morning. It was HORRIBLE. I was always dazed. ![]()

I'm up around 5:15am and out the door by 6. I'm home by 3:40, when I immediately sit on the couch and get on the computer until the girls get home at 4:15. That is my only alone time during the day, so I make sure to do exactly what I want to do in that half hour. After they get home, it's cook, clean, help with homework, showers, and bed. Boring stuff.

But the beauty is that there's no alarm clock!!!! I wake up, when I'm good and ready! If I want to lie there for two hours, I can!

I prefer getting up after 7am but before 9. Any earlier than 7 and I'm grumpy

Even if I CAN get to sleep early enough, I just feel grumpy in the AM, and swear my allergies drive me crazy, early in the morning. Swear to god, if I get up at noon, they don't bother me!
