Wow, I'm glad to hear everything went well with Billy's surgery. I wish there was information as to where fans could send him get well wishes.

Billy Burnette Undergoes Quintuple Bypass Surgery
Posted Dec 21st 2009 1:50PM by Alanna Conaway

Country-rockabilly singer-songwriter and guitarist Billy Burnette underwent quintuple-bypass surgery last week (Dec. 16). The musician checked into a Nashville hospital after experiencing shortness of breath and was admitted and operated on immediately.

The 56-year-old musician, born in Memphis to rockabilly pioneer Dorsey Burnette, is a former member of Fleetwood Mac. He had just returned from the road where he was playing guitar in John Fogerty's Blue Ridge Rangers band.

In addition to his stage and studio work, Billy has written songs for Faith Hill, Josh Turner, Tammy Wynette, Ray Charles, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, Everly Brothers, Cher, Bette Midler and Rod Stewart, among many others. His most recent country hit was George Strait's No. 1, 'River of Love.'

Billy is currently recovering at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Good question....would they visit him, like we would a co-worker or friend? I wouldn't be surprised if Mick, before returning to Hawaii, were to swing through Nashville to see him. The others, not likely.

That's one of the longest titles I've ever seen given to any musician!

Sounds like everything went well and he'll be ready to head back to a recording studio soon! (Probably quicker than his former bandmates.......)

I wouldn't be surprised if Bekka, Rick, and maybe Bob Welch did.

I'm sure Todd Sharp and George Hawkins, Jr. have visited as well. Both are Nashville residents.

Music Row knew the day it happened. It went out in a breaking news email from the trades. I meant to post it when I saw it but I've been really busy.

It's been a while, so I hope you have news of Billy's recovery.
Will he be touring again with Fogerty or is it finally time for some new solo recordings again? Has he been writing new songs? Probably.

Are there any news?
