This board is great for learning something new about F Mac! I never knew that Cyndi Lauper covered You Make Loving Fun. I need to go look for that!

I love both Tori Amos's and The Dixie's Chicks' version of Landslide. I hate most of that Rumours cover CD.

But, I heard a great version of I Know I'm Not Wrong. I posted about it in another place, but I should have put that post here! They are called the 1900's and below is a link to them doing it live. I'm still trying to get the version their studio version that I heard.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pWcVFAQfmY

Also, Tom Petty does a live version of Oh Well on his new 4 disc live Anthology collection. I kind of like it.

Finally, Lucy Wainwright Roche does a decent cover of Everywhere.

How about a thread where we talk about who we would like to cover some Mac songs????

I'd love to hear ...
Dolly Parton do That's Alright
Patty Griffin do Storms
Teddy Thompson do Love in Store
Counting Crows do Save Me a Place
Mary Chapin Carpenter do Honey Hi
Heart do Smile at You

OK, I'm off to hunt down Cyndi's YMLF!

Welcome to The Ledge! I love Nickel Creek's cover of I Want You back. Like Toxic though,. I just wish there was a better quality version than the ones on youtube so that I could have it in my collection! Do you know of one?

Oooohhh, now this is a good idea! I like some of these suggestions, especially the Counting Crows one. After FM they're probably my favourite band. Adam is a fantastic lyricist and a really underrated vocalist - check out any of their live shows for proof!

Ann Wilson would kick some serious ass doing the "angry" version of Smile At You

It's true that I think this band can do little/no wrong, but I love Steel Train's cover of "Tusk". Doesn't vary too heavily from the original but has a nice ST stamp on it. Love the drums and Jack Antonoff's take on the vocals doesn't disappoint.

Not the best video quality but the audio is alright. They officially released the cover on their Live from Bonnaroo album too.

[From an article about Lake Street Drive]

http://dubbophotonews.com.au/index.p...ke-street-dive

Showing they truly have a great musical sense of humour, each year the band puts out a Halloween video of their reworking of a boy-girl-boy-girl band hit (think The Mamas & the Papas, Abba, Starland Vocal Band), further proving their lyrical prowess. Their version of Fleetwood Mac’s Second Hand News, filmed when just goofing around is something to behold.

I've posted this before, but it's kicking my butt. Lindsey plays guitar on the album version they did.

I love Lake Street Dive and saw them live at the Wiltern Theatre last summer. I've not heard their cover of Second Hand News so must look it up. Thanks much for sharing this article!

Was Vampire Weekend's cover of Everywhere posted on here? I can't remember.. if not I'll link.

My absolute favorite FM cover EVER EVER EVER is Garden and Villa's cover of Gypsy.. I don't know why, I just love it to death.
