If I remember rightly there were two shows for the SYW concert too. We went to the first one, and if I remember rightly we all stood around outside waiting to be let in as "the band weren't happy with the sound".

Probably Lindsey...

Did anyone catch the picture of Stevie in today's west australian? A rather unflattering picture of her shopping on kings street!

Just got back from the first night, and the show was amazing as i expected. Stevie has really improved her vocals from the first two Melbourne shows, she was hitting higher notes in Sydney but tonight she went for broke! and it was amazing best Gold Dust Woman of the tour! Lindsey was my hero as usual i never tire of watching him! a few technical issues on GYOW i figured his guitar was in the wrong tuning and they were waiting for his tech to grab another MDL 1, so they were just building on the drums and bass. Stan was working his pedal board so possibly the wrong lead was plugged in? Any-who they started and the guitar was definitely out of tune but he adjusted accordingly and to tell you the truth was the most honest piece of musicianship i have seen on the tour and it was the best GYOW i have seen also! i was very proud of my hometown crowd they were loving it and the band could tell! i'll report back tomorrow, i have second row tickets tomorrow and its my last show! so i'm pumped to say the least!

Just got back, brilliant show, everyone seemed to be up and dancing and lots of younger people there loving it.

The band were fantastic, the songs were great, couldn't fault any of it. Loved Lindsey doing Oh Well, glad to see a nod to the past.

Oh and a couple of random things...

Despite it being a no smoking venue someone near us was smoking pot, and we kept getting the smell drifting across. Plus the woman sitting next to my wife kept getting up and down constantly, getting more drinks (spilling drinks) etc. Grr...do people have to be so annoying?

A bit of excitement behind us was about 8-10 security guards rushing around, charging up the stairs, etc. We expected it to be a full on fight or something but no, two ladies were very calmly escorted out. Weird.

Was your wife converted into being a fan? Michele

Nope. Her comments included "she's such a skank" (the hug with Lindsey), "hope she falls off the stage" (that was posted on my facebook page) and "the most annoying thing is when she turns her back to the audience" (that was her post-show summary). Oh and she did say "Lindsey does all the work" so maybe she is a Lindsey fan.

I then subjected her to Then Play On and Mystery To Me on the way home.

Waste of a good $165 I'm afraid. Sadly I now have to keep my end of the bargain and have to sit through Rob Thomas with her in February.

Oh, a candid picture like that is great, even an unflattering one.

Thank you. Stevie doesn't looked like she's dressed for "glorious sunshine".

I love pics like this.

I think she looks cute in the picture, make-up or not.

Wasn't it warm there? She looks a bit bundled up.

Sorry Chris, for not getting back to you, earlier. We went to the Saturday Night Show in 2004, and there wasn't any problems with sound that night. (It was definitely the Saturday, 'cause a group of us went out to the Airport to see FM off on their private plane, to Adelaide).
I know a few people who went to the same night as us, and then about a month later, went to see 'The Eagles' at Subiaco Oval. They are big fans of both bands, but they said that 'FM' concert way better, than the Eagles, especially sound wise.

Oh dear! so sorry to read that you had a interesting night with the wife. mmmmmm

By the way, many thanks for starting this "Perth Concert" thread. stay cool during the summer days. cheers
