Cars...cars...& more cars....oh, and trucks & motorcycles...and more cars. (I commute via freeway in Southern California...can you tell?)

And, I see the rollercoaster tracks of Knott's Berry Farm, the smokestacks of the Queen Mary, the dome that used to house Howard Hughes' Spruce Goose seaplane.

And, more cars & trucks & motorcycles & cars...and cars...and cars.

Is Knotts Berry Farm still operating? I thought it had shut down years ago. I live in LA and only visited one time back in the 80's

Oh, yeah! Six Flags sold it to Cedar Fair (the corporation that runs Cedar Point park in Ohio) a few years ago, but it's been open since Ma & Pa Knott ran the actual Berry Farm. (and the Knott's restaurant still serves their awesome chicken dinners!)

This is its big time of year when they have their "Halloween Haunt at Knott's Scary Farm". It's so popular that my evening commute during October really sucks!! (well, sucks even worse than usual)

Those shots are amazing, Betsy.

I take the Red Line every day in Chicago. Unfortunately, mostly what you see is the backside of all the brick three-floor walkups, and then you go underground. However, I do pass Graceland Cemetary:

I also pass Wrigley Field (I'm sure BrianJ. will be pleased). Oh and I also have the view of my fellow crabby commuters and the random homeless/crazy person. Soon to be $3 each way, and $110 for a monthly pass, yipee!!!

Cool photos golddustdrummer! They look like my hometown. I swear I've seen that street from the first photos.

Erin! Yours are cool too. That Graceland cemetery first shot is stunning! And the mauseolum (?) with the pillars is interesting. i am fascinated by cemeteries and like to photograph the unique stones. There was a picture thread a few years ago and someone posted cemetery photos from England, I think.

ChiliD - so Knotts Berry Farm really started with a Berry Farm and not amusement rides? (*smile*)

Today is a special day for me, as was yesterday. I am a grandma for the first time and got to be in the delivery room. Life is good and taking the time to reflect on all those things one is grateful for, caresses the soul.

I enjoy the friendliness of the Ledge community. Thanks everyone who took an interest in the thread.

My commute to both work and school requires about a ten minute walk around campus, so here's a taste of Wellesley for you all.

^ The boy throwing a football is a complete misrepresentation unless he is actually a she. Then it's just called Tuesday afternoon.

^ the library where I work hard for the money

^ the lake on campus (the tall tower is one of the academic buildings, specifically the one I have my German class in, if you're interested in stalking me. Despite its beauty, life here gets dull.)

I didn't take those, just a lovely Google Images search, but I'm sure the photographers would appreciate the comment!
