A Reserve tickets will be good (they're the best on offer after all ) but there are a couple of things you might want to consider.

The thing that personally bothers me most about the Preferred Seating tickets is that they don't tell you where exactly they are. A Reserve tickets at shows here in Brisbane, for example, often range from the very front row to the very back at the floor. They're generally all fine seats, but it depends on what exactly you're looking for.

Although seating arrangements vary from show to show at the same venue, maybe have a look around on Ticketek/Ticketmaster for some similar shows (ie, all seated, but no weird love seats like Britney Spears) currently on sale for the venue you intend to go to to get an idea about where A Reserve might be. Given that Preferred Seating is also selling Rows 1 to 5 for higher prices, I imagine that tickets purchased through them listed as A Reserve will not be in the first 5 rows. On the other hand, I would imagine (though I'm not certain) that a handful of these seats will be available to the general public at regular prices through Ticketek.

My personal experience with Ticketek pre-sales has also been great in that I've come away with what I was after and sometimes a bit better (4th row for The Who ). I think your chances of getting an A Reserve ticket in the pre-sale (or even the general on-sale) would be quite good. Whether it will be a better A Reserve than one you buy through Preferred Seating though is hard to tell.

So, I suspect that actually wasn't much help to you at all. Sorry! I've never had so many ticket-buying options before, so I can certainly understand your predicament.

I just bought tickets through Preferred Seating for the third or fourth row. WOOOO HOOOO! We booked for the second show in Brisbane, on Wednesday, 16 December. I know the official people say there is now only one show per city, but they’ll be doing second ones. Our Brisbane show is the FINAL show of the whole Australian tour as well, so should be excellent!!!!

For questions about Preferred Seating’s actual seats, well…be careful. For the huge places they’re playing, you could be right up the back on the floor and it’d still be classed as A Reserve. Preferred Seating says that their tickets are sold at a premium because they are EITHER advance access seats (in this case) or they are considered to be so-called “gold class” tickets.

We’ve used them 3 times (and again now), and haven’t been overly impressed. We used them to book Stevie’s solo concert tickets in 2006 in Brisbane, and infuriatingly, upon receiving the tickets (and yes, they don’t tell you what seats you’ve got till right before the concert when they come in the mail), we found they were in Row S. Not exactly amazing for the money we paid for “premium” tickets. We then went online and checked the normal Ticketek sales and found (and this is the infuriating part) that Row G (and who knows what else, this was just the best available) were on sale. ROW G! We couldn’t afford to buy them on top of the lesser tickets we’d already paid for, so put up with Row S.

The last time we used them was for French & Saunders and we got Row ZZ. At first I was appalled at this, but then realised once we arrived that we weren’t right at the back, but rather in the middle. Still not great seats though, but in that case the event was in such high demand, this was considered good.

Anyway, so watch out. This is why we didn’t buy A Reserve. We don’t want to end up in Row S again, you know? We’ve seen Fleetwood Mac before (in 2004) and Stevie when she was here in 2006 (both in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast, where we actually live), and all times we were a bit far back. This time we wanted actual GOOD seats, so we’ve paid the premium for them and guaranteed the goodness. Lol.

I rang Preferred Seating the other day to get some more info. I was told that A Reserve can be either floor setas or seats on the first elevation. I certainly dont want to be sat on the first elevation so instead (and based on what iv read here) im gonna wait for the Ticketek pre-sale. Im just hoping il be within the first 10 rows so can make my way to the front!!

And one other thing, does anybody know the maximum number of tickets you can buy from Ticketek? Im taking an entourage of 7 recently converted mac fans with me but am worried we may be sat seperately. Also does the number of tickets you buy affect which row you may get?

^ There usually is some limit to the number of tickets you can buy. For most events you can usually purchase up to 10 tickets, but I think sometimes there are lower limits in pre-sales. That info should be up on Ticketek before the pre-sale though, or perhaps it would be worth giving them a ring. You can also usually split your tickets up within that limit - rather than getting 10 seats altogether, for example, you could get two groups of 5.

I can only comment on your second question based on my observations of how Ticketek works, but it does seem to me that the row you get will often be affected by your group size e.g., if there are two seats left in Row 5, and you're trying to get 8 people together, you will go to whatever the next available row is with 8 spare seats (which may not necessarily be Row 6). I figure it's probably much like queuing up for a taxi for 8 people when there's no maxis around - people with smaller groups will end up in a taxi before you because they can be accommodated.

A password? No. Preferred Seating doesn’t require a password, and you just have to register as a member with Ticketek in order to book anything there, including presales.

It features a phone interview with Mick and is written by a journo friend of mine (who I should acknowledge that I met through the Ledgie Formerly Known as Lux).

I don't intend to go to the concerts this time (it couldn't possibly top last time) but I'm excited for the other Aussie fans and thankful that the band decided to tour here.

My oh my.. well i' a bit behind, haven't researched and researched this time. I want good seats, though compared to their last concert in Aus and Stevie's solo, i won't be paying the amount i did for them last time. However.. may find out the premium for the good seats in the first few rows middle.

Yes you can buy tickets, I bought mine 2 weeks ago through preferred seating 3/4th row $440. Worth every cent Im sure...Can't Wait!!!

Thanks heaps, i still not sure what i'm doing yet, i just wish they would release the seating plan so then you could specify exactly where you wanted to sit!
