Tolerant eh? That's good for a chuckle. The difference is you believe in what you read, I believe what I see - or saw. There's the sweep child. If the early Mac units bore you to tears, and you express it smugly as such (at least that's how I read it per this thread), then why get offended when an older Mac hand suggests you're being myopic. To me its pretty evident.
As for the HOF, you speak of what was, I of what could have been. Again, just another kind of sweep. BTW where's all that glowing tolerance you profess to possess when it comes to my HOF vision? Or should the old guard run away to all the johnny-come-lately types. |

Quote:
I didn't say the older incarnations of the Mac bored me to tears, I said your fantasy scenario did. And I wouldn't have expressed an opinion on your scenario at all, except that you were refusing to be ignored. You weren't content to simply describe your perfect induction, but apparently think it should be everyone else's perfect induction too. Otherwise, they aren't as broadminded and far-seeing as you are. Your arrogance sparked my frank reply that I would have been bored to tears. One of the many reasons why there is no right and wrong on this issue is that we were working with different hypotheticals. There is a real DVD coming out and it's going to have 1 of the 3 songs that were really performed. So, we were talking about what songs should have been performed instead, given the people who were there. You came in and started talking about what you would like to have seen happen, if every one you wanted had been there, Jeremy, Weston, Bob Welch. That's a perfectly legitimate "what if," it's just a different one than I was trying to imagine. Therefore, my fantasy and yours would necessarily be different, because they're starting from completely different premises. That's why I had nothing to add or respond to in your first post. There's no reason to bicker about which impossible dream is superior and which visionary the most enlightened. Both fantasies can co-exist. Michele |

"snoot" seems an appropriate name. you're really gonna get into something over what a band should have played over 10 years ago at a Hall of Fame induction ceremony? Chill out.
p.s.- Michele, you are lovely :-)
