See, they could do a video like this, but all the dancers
could be CGI repeats of Bennoyance and Ri-Ri. They could alternate the "all bound for Mu Mu land" line. Justin Timberlake could do the rap section. They do it in a Blade Runner meets Gypsy urban forest set. I already have the thing designed. Lots of flying chiffon and tropical plants against scaffolding, a downtown cityscape out of which erupts Stevie's magical forest and ~mystical~ world.
She would need to be wearing an enormous crown on the
prow of a majestic ship just like Garbo. Emerging from the
urban jungle to take back the modern architecture and cultural erosion and transform it back to its earthy and
mystical beginnings.

The lyrics would have to be changed...but that could be a cute idea. Although I would hate to see the song messed with at all. Rusty's steel guitar in the song makes it for me...

Unfortunatly it has been the longest period between solo records of her career. And the last one wa not that successful. Not a true hit on it.

She is ripe for a "comeback."

We are not exactly talking about an artist who is
cranking out fresh material and inspired writing.

And Tammy Wynett was frankly a bigger phenomenon in her genre than Stevie could ever hope to be.

And I love that she had enough of a sense of humor

As s a very long time fan of the First Lady of Country Music - I have to disagree.

Tammy never made that big "come back" you talk about. She did get a little bit of attention from Hollywood when she performed at the Roxy. It was a publicity stunt that caused her to record with the KLF, (thanks Richey) and her voice never recovered after her health started deteriorating. The end of her life was sad and undeserved, her death untimely and more than likely could have been prevented....

However, Stevie, the Queen of Rock and Roll took her silver spoon and dug her way out of the potential grave. She may not have some of the chops she once had in her younger days, but at least her addictions aren't killing her any more. I think she sounds and looks amazing on this current FM tour. It looks like she will do the one thing her rehab partner at Betty Ford couldn't do and that is not let her addictions destroy her.

If and when the performing ship sails for Stevie, I think her final bow will be very classy ... not the worst performance ever of her signature song on national television to go home and die on a couch because she had been overmedicated by a control freak...

I think Stevie has risen above.

Btw, Lindsey wouldn't even know what a pickup truck is... The story might be more accurate if it included a Mercedes and cocaine...

Oh I never implied that Tammy made a big comeback.

Aside from her sad demise, however, she dominated country music and had more influence in her genre than Stevie did.

I base this not on my personal opinion but the testimony
of essentially every female country singer to come after her. I mean come on. 17 number one songs?

Dude. That Queen of Rock and Roll tag was a one time
tag from Rolling Stone that was dubbed on a cover in the summer of 1981. Almost 28 years ago. It was true then.
It was momentary.

She may not have some of the chops she once had in her younger days, but at least her addictions aren't killing her any more. I think she sounds and looks amazing on this current FM tour. It looks like she will do the one thing her rehab partner at Betty Ford couldn't do and that is not let her addictions destroy her.

She beat the addictions, except the one to pot, and lived.

She just isn't creative anymore.

Didn't know any of this about Tammy, sounds interesting but sad.
I do not know much about her or her music but was always very intrigued by that raspy twang on the KLF song.

She was a wonderful woman and I miss her. I was priviledged to visit her house several times and I've gotten to know one of her daughters. Her death devastated me. She went too soon.

I remember her steel guitar player's story about recording for "Justified and Ancient". And Tammy's vocals on that were just great. Her granddaughters loved to dance around the house to it!
