3rd Watch (finally!)

Wellllll, I really slammed this new version of Peacekeeper in an earlier post. But having listened to it a number of times, including the better version on Burnish.net, I must admit it's growing on me. I still like the earlier version better, but I don't feel it's as bad as I originally ranted about.

Actually, it sounds pretty good.

Exactly what happened to me when I heard it - I was watching Joe Millionaire (what a waste of time that crap was) while taping the last 15 minutes of Third Watch. When I watched the tape, I turned on my surround sound and WOW!!! I wasn't expecting Stevie's vocals at all, so I was pleasantly surprised to not only hear her incredible HIGH harmony, but the TWO OF THEM TOGETHER!!! I played it over and over again like 10 times. Hurry, April 15, hurry!! BTW, I just called the radio station to ask if they had any word of the FM single. She said no, and was surprised, since just about every other artist w/ an album coming out on or near April 15 has already released a single (like Lucinda Williams).

I slammed it too Rainman..but it IS growing on me..the burnish version is WAY better than the earlier one I dl'ed!! YIKES, no laughing part and the muted guitar!! AAAAHHH!!! NOOO!! LOL I can't wait to hear the entire song so I can hear my fave guitar part around 2:30 on Lindsey's original version (it had BETTER be there!!!!!), which is STILL my fave!! LOL

Lindsey sounds AMAZING on the song!!!! Stevie surprised me with her high vocals too!! ROCK ON FLEETWOOD MAC!!

Exactly. A lot of times instrumental parts will be taken out so that they can get all those vocals in on their clip. And the tune on the chorus sounds like the chorus at the end of Lindsey's original "Peacekeeper," so maybe even that was moved around.

An example: On "Friends," their new shortened version "I'll Be There for You" sound the same way, with abrupt changing and no instrumentation. Got to get it all in before the credits end!

I don't think the song was changed for the show, I really think this is it. I know what you mean about songs like the Friends soundtrack, but I don't think they've bothered doing that with this track...the Friends song starts and ends perfectly, whereas this starts slightly into the song, and simply fades out halfway through the song. Sounds like they just took the first 1:40 and stuck it onto the show. We'll soon find out....

I am much more of a Fleetwood Mac than a Lindsey Buckingham fan, so after downloading and listening to the "Burnish" version of the song, I was quite surprised that I still like his solo version to it much better. I think it loses some energy in the clip, but the harmonies are excellent. I still want to hear the whole thing before posting a definitive opinion, though. For now, the solo Lindsey version, to me, is much better.
