Question about security at concerts

Then they should be sitting in the mezzanine section where they belong. Sorry if that offends you, but to be honest, this is a rock concert. If you're planning on getting floor seats (especially those near the stage), you're almost expected to stand throughout the show. I'm guessing you're the type of fan that likes to sit in his seat expressionless while Steve is twirling during Stand Back. How fun. But really, most fans that purchase tickets close to the stage like to enjoy themselves and get into it. You know, standing, clapping, dancing - normal stuff.

As far as your simple rules are concerned, they don't really apply at rock and roll concerts. That's not to say that people are going to be rude and trampling all over you the entire night. But you should expect that at some point during the show, another fan is going to "invade your space" and you're just going to have to get over that. Whining to security the whole night is only going to ruin the experience for yourself and the other person (people) involved. Do yourself and everyone else a favor and just deal with it for one night.

Here is an idea you send me the money we spent, WHICH IS NO DOUBT more than YOU and you can be in my space all you want, how about that? As for people needing to be put in a special area you should be ashamed. What if someone was in a wheel chair and couldn't see because you were being selfish and could care less. What if someone got hurt becuase you thought the rules didn't apply? Shameful. As long as everyone is having fun and everyone is respectful that's fine. You should deal with the fact that there are rules, so get over it.

yes! I go to many concerts... Last October... at Madonna... PEOPLE STAYED IN THEIR AREA!!! No one was being rude to anyone else! Alanis Morissette? Everyone stayed in their place- no one got crazy. Of course we all danced and had fun, but no one rushed up to the end of the stage. No one got pushed around. Everyone was respectful of everyone else because they have common sense.That's the difference in chaos and having a good time. It seems as though Ledgies want chaos. I don't do chaos. I have been to concerts ALL MY LIFE... and have NEVER acted the way some of these posts have described. Never.

All right, then, I think perhaps it would do good for you to go back and read this thread again with a more critical eye. No one is advocating chaos - it's been said repeatedly that you should be respectful and courteous and not shove.

Also, persons in wheelchairs are not, as a rule, seated on the floor. There are special seating areas for those people. And the entire floor does not have to sit down just because one or two people cannot stand for the whole show. That's why there are different seating levels and seating areas.

No one need get hurt, no one need be disrespectful, but an entire arena floor need not also cater to the whims of one or two individuals.

Calm thyself.

Ok... Read your own statement... Now think about it... Did I say that everyone needed to set down? No. Did I say that the entire floor should follow the whims of one or two individuals? Nope. People get hurt by this common, general admission mentality. So... maybe you should calm yourself. When people are trying to move up to the edge of the stage and shouldn't be... That is chaos. When people have, "tricks" to sneak upfront... That is CHAOS... So, tell me... What do you call a statement that stated rules don't apply at Rock concerts? Chaos. My statement is that it's not general admission down there and I will make sure that I get MY money's worth. And I will. No worries.

I'm not the one having a fit here so I don't need to calm anything, chief. Nor am I worried, particularly since your interesting sense of self-righteousness will apparently be nowhere near my Mac show on Sunday.

You do seem to have a very different idea of what constitutes as "chaos" from the rest of the planet, though.

Thanks! I keep saying to myself, "It will be fine. No worries. I get to meet Mick and that's enough..." I said earlier that I hope I get seats further back, but I am sure it will all be ok. I trust that it will not get crazy. Most of you all trump me, in age, by YEARS so I think I could hold my own. Being that FM fans are so much older I should be in great shape. Older people are pretty mellow.

By the way, I am not saying people who paid more should get the right to move up before anyone else. I am saying that the seat listed on your ticket is the place where you should stay. Do what you want, in YOUR area.

I think you are blowing it out of proportion. I seriously doubt there is going to be chaos at a Fleetwood Mac show Just the band allowing some people to stand at the front of the stage and a few that will sneak up.
Maybe you have the band confused with Napalm Death or something.

I have been to more than 5 concerts in the last 6 months and no one behaved like that. I am not blowing anything out of proportion. I am not down with people from rows behind me moving upfront. I am not. If I were in the third row, I would feel the same way. And I am gonna add some smiley faces so that I can be passive-aggressive as well LOL

Wow, a whole five concerts huh? And before I wasn't being trying to rile you I was genuinely amused that you, as a person who has said he's seen the band before, think there is going to be chaos at a Fleetwood Mac concert. Have you even heard of chaos at a Mac concert even during the height of their fame? The fact is the BAND like the first few rows to stand in front of the stage, you just have to deal with it and the likelihood is that no one other than the first few rows will be the ones there. The couple of people here talking about trying to make it to the front are the exception to the rule: most people stay in their seat. You go to more than 5 concerts in a 6 month period? Then WOW... What do you do for a living? I have seen the band and thought that it would be like the Dance. At the Conesco Field House people were a little crazy, but very chaotic. Wasn't there a fist fight in Reno??? That sounds pretty chaotic to me. I had no idea that they let up to 5 rows up there. I am thinking, there cannot be that much room. I am not throwing a hissy fit. I just think that these replies are condenscending (example: your, "wow" comment...") and that makes me question why I still log on to this site. It's almost petty. And sad.

Oh, I have no doubt you spent more than what I did for my ticket. I picked up a second row center seat just the other day for face value. Let's hope all those extra hundreds you spent on meeting Mick got you a place in front of me, although I wouldn't bet on it.

But since you spent so much more money than me and many others, maybe you can request your own gold-encrusted throne instead of a seat and request a spot right in the aisle, thus eliminating anyone invading your personal space and guaranteeing you the special treatment which you seem to feel you so righteously deserve.

As someone else mentioned, there are special areas designated for those who are physically impaired. However, common sense should apply to those who prefer to sit instead of stand and if they so choose to buy a ticket close to the stage, then they have to be prepared to have other fans standing up in front of them if they're not in row numero uno. The world does not revolve around you and if 95% of the audience is standing, then either you're going to have to stand as well, or sit and deal with having your view blocked. Even if you spent $10,000 on your seat, it does not mean you are entitled to any special treatment than anyone else in your area.
