I find it interesting the heavy emphasis she's placing on the setlist and not wanting to "give it away". Personally, after the ugly Vegas episode in 05, I don't believe a word she says but it's still interesting to me that's she's making such a point to tell everyone the reason to see this show is because of the fabulous set list. I also wonder why they can't do more than just one song that they've never done before. Is that rule in the Rock and Roll handbook or something?

I guess when you have been around as long as Stevie has, and when you are as unique as Stevie, you are bound to inspire a broad spectrum of opinions.

I think "ugly Vegas incident" may be overstating it but basically, before the tour, Stevie was speaking about how she and Waddy had gone back over all her old material and were digging out some big surprises for the Vegas shows. There was a lot of speculation on what never performed songs from the Nicks archive were going to make the setlist but, if I recall correctly, the big surprises were If Anyone Falls and Beauty And The Beast, songs she had performed on many solo tours before.
But anyway, that's why people here are cynical when Stevie or the band make big promises of new or never-before-performed material.

I Bolded the important words. She said something to the effect of we MAY open with talk to me" and "we're looking back and MAY bring out some of the "old outfits". So, when she didn't open with talk to me or sing i cant wait, or wear that white fringgy thing from the gypsy video people were disappointed. ( She DID for soundstage come through with afew "Surprises" though, IE "SARA" and the FULL-ON cream-booted scarf-and-tophat Rhiannon.) AND my other complaint about people not being satisfied was that If anyone falls and Beauty and the beast may have been done on one or two tours waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay Back-In-The-Day, but in 0'5, it was a surprise that they had dusted them off and brought them back. Same with How still My love, which was also Resurrected from back-in-the-80's-tours-of -the-past obscurity and brought back into the set for the vegas shows. So, there were afew "TREATS", but because she didnt do i cant wait or talk to me or wear sea-foam green, people complained. (In between gushing about how Beauty and the beast "gave them chills". ALSO, As i recall, MOST of the people who actually WENT to a Vegas show LOVED IT, it was only some who were here waiting for an update who gave the "eh" response.

Well, I agree those initial Vegas shows were fantastic. Certainly she was more inventive with the set for those shows, bringing back those few songs, than she has been since.

How dare you forget How Still My Love, Sharon.

For the record, most of us who went were actually pretty satisfied - seeing her in such an intimate venue was great, and B&tB alone was worth it for me. BUT, lots of people felt she made promises she didn't keep & I could see why they were disappointed. Lesson learned the hard way - take everything the woman says with a grain of salt.

Stevie Nicks wrote Mariah during ‘craziness’

The first Fleetwood Mac tour in five years begins March 1 in Pittsburgh, and Stevie Nicks wants everyone to know that Sheryl Crow passed up the opportunity to join.

“I explained to Sheryl what it was like to be in the group — that it’s all-encompassing. Like on 2003’s Say You Will tour, we went out expecting to do 40 shows, and it turned in to 135 shows,” Nicks told Rolling Stone. “So Sheryl called me and said, ‘I’ll have to pass.’ As Stevie Nicks, I was disappointed. As her friend, I told her she made the right decision.”

Nicks, who turned 60 last year, is a friend and inspiration to other younger musicians, including Vanessa Carlton, Michelle Branch and Mariah Carey.

“When Mariah Carey was going through all her craziness a few years ago, I wrote her a long letter telling her how everybody else is crazy — not her,” she told Rolling Stone. “I saw her recently, and she told me she keeps the letter with her jewelry! I love that.”
