Default Why does everybody hate "Oh Diane?"

He should do Family Man and not "Oh Diane"?!

Now, "Oh Diane," that's a much-maligned song that is not as bad as some people make it out to be! I think it's fun in a 50s pop way. And next to "Family Man" its lyrics are genius. In fact, I quite like the lyrics "Love is like a grain of sand, slowly slipping through your hand."

I really don't understand the hostility towards this nice, pleasant tune.

Default I would much rather hear BN stuff and new SYW stuff than Tango stuff on this tour

...But I'd love to hear Lindsey sing TITN live.
I like it when he screams and sings "pretty" too.

It would definitely make for a less predictable show...And they have enough material from the "Buckingham/Nicks" era of FM to do this...Brian J.
The Stones did alter the setlist a bit on this tour but toward the end it too got rather predictable. They changed the order a few times, but for the most part, they stuck to a lot of the same songs. Just as I would like to see the Mac throw in some rarely-played tunes like most things off Tusk and Tango, and the pre-BN stuff...it would have been nice to see the Stones throw in "Under My Thumb," "Paint it, Black," "Waiting on a Friend," or "Starf'cker."

So what the heck's wrong with Oh Diane? I thought it was camp and a great little tune. I'd love to see him play it.

For me, the highlights of the TITN album are very much LB's songs, so those are the ones I'd love to see being done live, and I totally agree that it's time for Big Love to go back to its original '87 form.

I'd like to see Lindsey do Big Love with the full band, Family Man, and Isn't it Midnight. TITN would be good, but it may be redundant if they keep ISA in the set.

I like "Diane" but I have heard it very often and this is one of the tunes you can get enough of after a while. Also I think there a certain songs that work better in the studio than live and I think this is one of those. Doubt also that the 50`s sounding with this smooth voice (of 82) nowadays could be transported on the stage.

I would love for Stevie to sing Seven Wonders as I love that song. Maybe she will as she has more room to fit in more songs with Christine's absence. Also, LB seemingly tends to like to mix it up with alternative mixes, etc. (See AHI Gypsy and The Dance tour's Big Love, Go Insane, and Say You Love Me (certainly he must have suggested of all things the banjo ) So, maybe and hopefully we will get some different songs!!!!!! The only thing I can think of that bodes unwell for this is SN apparently was not willing to take all of Waddy's advice to mix it up on the recent TISL tour and open with Bella Donna or Talk to Me. But, she did mix it up some. I am on needles and pins for this tour as it has so much promise right now!!!!

If I recall, the Stones didn't ADD "Satisfaction" (at least in regular rotation) to the set until 1980 or '81. They didn't play it when I saw them in 1976 or 78. And, none of the set lists I've seen from the 1969 or 1972 tours included it. But, it seems it has either been either the set closer (or close to it) or an encore tune since the '80's.

That is true from the concerts I have of the Stones from '72-'78...It ("Satisfaction") wasnt added back to the set until the 1981 tour...Brian J.

Great thread y'all! Tango in the Night and Seven Wonders are the two songs that I wish they will play most from TITN. It would also be awesome to hear Caroline and Welcome to the Room....Sara but I highly doubt they will play that song. Other than that, I'm really hoping for some Tusk songs.

On the Bridges to Babylon tour in 97-98 they opened the show with Satisfaction. For the other tours though since Tattoo You they have usually stuck it in towards the end or at the very end.
