Want more new material or old material on the tour?

How much of the new concert setlist do you want to be new material?

My wish list would be about half new stuff, half classics. I wouldn't even mind if it were more than half new stuff...though that's probably not likely. They're gonna have to cut some of the standards, which I won't mind, (unless they cut I'm So Afraid, Big Love or Gypsy...then I'll be pissed) and hopefully include some BN stuff. I honestly won't miss Dreams or Go Your Own Way if it means they'll do Frozen Love or Angel or Don't Let Me Down Again.

I was thrilled when Stevie put plenty of new TISL songs on the tour....
Everyday, Planets, Bombay Saphires, Fall From Grace, Sorcerer, AND Too Far From Texas. And to be perfectly honest, I really didn't go to hear Rhiannon or Gold Dust Woman. I know they are her songs, but I prefer she save those for the Mac shows and do more of the solo hits instead on a solo tour. JMO.

The reason I want it to be new stuff heavy on this tour is not because I'm sick of the old stuff (I'm not), but because I think their voices are more suited to the new stuff and it'll be more fresh and exciting. What do you think?

90%. Seriously, I'd love to hear them do the entire new album and a few of the classics. It will never happen, I know, and most of the audience would hate it, but I would be in heaven.

I feel pretty much the same. I still love I'm So Afraid, Gold Dust Woman, Go Your Own Way...but after years of bootlegs, I'm ready to hear something different.

I do understand why the band feels like they have to play the same old setlist. Joe Blow - who, right now probably doesn't even know that they have a new CD coming out - will decide to take the wife to see Fleetwood Mac when he reads in the paper that they are coming to town. He doesn't want to hear Frozen Love or Peacekeeper or Tango In The Night. He wants to hear the stuff he knows and will walk out if he doesn't.

It is too bad they don't do fan concerts, where we pick the setlist. Anybody want to tell The Knight we'll pay $1100 for that?

Well, I hope we don't get more than 2 TISL songs performed.

I hope @least half the new album is being done live, cause I don't want another Dance.

They should start the tour off with "Say You Will" and then kick it into overdrive with "The Chain."

I would be incredibly shocked to ever see another concert billed as Fleetwood Mac and not play Go Your Own Way and The Chain. Although that can change, prior to 1997, I would have been shocked to see a FM concert sans "Oh Well."

I would think that this tour will have the war horses, GYOW, The Chain, Dreams, Don't Stop. I wouldn't be surprised however to see Rhiannon dropped, or played infrequently. If I remember correctly, I think in a interview back in '97, Lindsey mentioned something about them putting Gypsy on the CD and not Rhiannon but due to audience reaction to Rhiannon or something, they decided to go with it instead. It was a long time ago, so I might have some facts twisted. They might just decide that it's time to replace Rhiannon with something different, and God-willing that will be SOTM.

Sorry, but that would be the worst mistake to do. The Stones did that on their last tour in Germany. And now who are the fans, that are allowed to vote on the internet? Of course your Joe Blow or our Karl Müller will do. He is 49 and wants to hear Satisfaction, Angie and so on. He was young when this was played and somehow lives musically in the past not regarding new bands, new music, new songs. My neighbour f.e. keeps on playing things from 1971-1983 and I can't stand "Let it be" or others like that on full volume no more... But back to the internet. Everyone voted for this old stuff and so the Stones became their own revival band. 1 or 2 new songs then 2 and a half hours Satisfaction and Co. That was the reason I didn't go there no more after visiting the 89 and 94 tours, where it was different. (94 almost tending towards that direction but still was alright)
So let FM do an internet vote and you'll hear Rhiannon and Gyow in a 2 hour loop.

If the "Say You Will" album is good, and I mean REALLY good, then I wouldn't mind if they gave it the same treatment that Pink Floyd did with Dark Side Of The Moon during their P.U.L.S.E. tour i.e. Do the ENTIRE album live from start to finish, in album order! (As a 1st or 2nd half of a 3 hour concert!) The other half would be all the classics!

Personally, I really don't care what "Joe Blow" thinks about the show. FM is so big that they can afford to experiment with the setlist. Of course they'll throw in some hits and older material. But I don't think this is an "either/or" thing. They should do as much of the new material as they are able to reproduce live - if anything just to reel in more fans to the new grooves they've got going. Traditionally, that was the purpose of a tour: to support an album. I don't think too many people are going to be walking out of the concert if they do a bunch of new stuff (or even some slightly obscure stuff). Joe Blow will wait until the end of the show to get his "standards" fix. And if he doesn't, that's his loss, as he's already paid money to see the band. If fact, I could never understand why a person would walk out of a show they paid money to see. You would think they would want to stay until the very end to make sure they don't miss any key songs. And at the prices they'll more than likely be charging, the band can afford to push the envelope a bit and challenge the status quo as to the way things are done. I think the majority of fans will welcome something new and exciting - as long as they play a bunch of hits too.

Then, of course, it wouldn't hurt the band to play a little longer to give the audience the kind of show it really deserves

(I know, I've said all this before - but I feel very strongly about this).

As far as I'm concerned, it could all be new. I guess I don't really care much. I think I care more about how the band plays all this stuff. I would prefer they didn't use all the backup vocalists & guitarists & keyboardists & percussionists; it tends to sort of bland things out. The Fleetwood Mac performances I've been most excited about in the past have been anything but prettied up. I'm in a Mac cover band now that's actually going to wind up sounding very rough indeed, instrumentally--like the "Patron Saints" album (almost).

My thoughts exactly. I most want older Fleetwood Mac album cuts not played on The Dance.....Sisters of the Moon, Sara, Angel, Tango in the Night, Blue Letter, etc......

depending on how good the album is (i haven't heard any of it yet) i want to hear a few songs. i would say more, but because i've never been to a FM concert, i want to be able to experience the classics, like the chain, gold dust woman, gyow, etc.

That reminds me of the TISL show I went to in Hartford,CT. I was standing in line at the TISL merchandise stand and a lady that was looking at the T-shirts said to her friend: "Trouble in what? What does that say??" Her friend said "Oh, I don't know". So neither one of them even knew the name of Stevie's Cd never mind the songs. I wanted to turn around and "HELLO it is the name of her NEW CD!" I did not do this, however.

I don't care if they play new OR old material, as long as they play DIFFERENT material than they've played the last 25+ years.

Play Buckingham Nicks tunes, play stuff that hasn't been played on stage before, play tunes that people don't EXPECT to be played. Just (Please GOD) don't play the same worn out set.

Personally, I don't give a f*** if someone hasn't seen them before and wants to hear the hits, I'M sick of "the hits"...they bore me...I want to be entertained not bored...especially for the price I fear the tickets will be.

If I hear they're playing the same ol'/same ol', I'll pass this tour (for the first time in 30 years)
