I think Led Zeppelin stole it and changed a few words around. The lyrics ARE in "blues" format.

The Beggar's Opera reminds me of Kurt Weil & Bertold Brecht's "Die 3 Groschen Oper " - Three Penny Opera - where Mac the Knife made Bobby Darin famous.

Since I was a German Major in College, it was required reading... and we got to see a German production of it.

I checked the local library which has a 1953 VHS version of the Beggar's Opera with a starring (and singing) Laurence Olivier. If this is what you want, I can check it out and see what I can do about getting your audio.
