I take it that if all of LB's songs on Mirage were not eliminated and all of CM's and La Nicks' were, you'd see no bias

Interestingly, I think Straight Back and Gypsy are LB's best works on Mirage. His guitar in Gypsy is likely his best work in FM IMO. So, to me, though Gypsy generally is considered a Nicks song, it is a very cohesive group effort that she happened to write and sing lead on.

I voted Eyes of the World.

Say You Will tour version: propulsive and invigorating
Mirage version: weak

My fav. version.

I love CM on this.

I love La Nicks' tittie jiggle while doing the twist, closely followed by a shuffle across the stage without a hint of rhythm to it - all while looking SMOKIN HOT

I love LB's blistering guitar solo.

All in all, the end of an era.

And - they rehearsed it. So, WTF

To be fair, by the time they recorded the Mirage video, her voice sounded nothing like the Straight Back recoded I posted earlier.

Except for the blistering solo's. He still pours them out with the same blister, passion, pace, sharpness and soul.

I think his solos have somewhat lessened in intensity. IMO GYOW on the FM Live record is way more intense to me than The Dance or later versions, which I think are still good, but just not as intense. LB is like pizza - even when it is bad, it is still pretty good

Oh. come on. Strand. Take the opportunity to listen to the live solo's on IKINW, Great Day, Love Runs Deeper and even SHN. You can't say the intensity is lessened. Go your own way? On the "controlled" (read: officially recorded versions) I agree with you, but on the bulk of the bootlegs he just goes bazerk on them. He's been singing that song like crap on the UTS tour, GOS was better, but on the soloing you can't say he's lost intensity. Sometimes he overstretches and it falls apart in industrial noise-which I sometimes even prefer..but that aside..., but basicly he soars out a heck of a vigorised solo to these ears.

Actually we would, due to the fact that such songs as Can't Go Back and Empire State aren't very good.

Kinda like how That's Alright and Straight Back are.

Just a pity that Lindsey's best songs are also being voted off before aforementioned crap.

DW, not everyone has to have the same favorite songs as you. Personally, I love Can't Go Back and That's Alright and I think they are great songs. What you think is crap might be others favorites, and what you love others might hate.

So please, let's stop the bitterness! These polls are supposed to be fun so if you can't handle the results please DON'T PLAY WITH THE REST OF US (or just quietly vote) who can deal if our favorite gets voted off.

I want everybody to have fun with these, not get all upset because they don't like the results and the winning song isn't the same as their favorite.

I voted for SB. You won't see me posting in Round 9 crying about it if it's still in though. Personally, I like EOTW better than Hold Me.

The bad vibes haven't been because a particular song hasn't won. It's not like we're kids in the sandbox. It was the begging for votes in another forum that stuck in most people's craw. As if to say, "Hey, if you don't come over here and vote for Stevie right away you're not a fan. Save Straight Back!" Like it has any effect on anything except for annoying others.

Actually, it has had sort of a strange effect on me. I have always been a "yay, the Mac has three lead singers" as well as a teen chiffonhead. But this poll, for whatever stupid reason, has me leaning toward the Lindsey AND Chris material. I feel silly about all of it, I mean, really a poll with just dozens of votes? But I would have preferred it to run its own course rather than the way it turned out. Can't believe chiffonheads find every single Stevie song preferable to some quality Lindsey and Chris stuff. Not just this album obviously.

Of course, there's no way I'm not voting Gypsy to win. But every round, I have voted SB.

Well, there is a long history of that here. PM's and emails are also often used. I've even had a phone call or two to me back in the day. So, it doesn't really phase me.

As for Straight Back and That's Alright - I think they are amongst La Nicks' better vocals and that is why I voted for them as opposed to the IMO weaker LB songs on this record.
