You know how these things go. Amazon is now listing the release date as September 30. Who knows if PBS will get it out to consumers any faster. People have posted that it's already "back ordered." Does that mean it's not been packaged and burned yet?

Who knows. It's not good for sales. If they are showing it on TV they should be ready to send it out ASAP.

Was there this long a lag with Lindsey's? I think there was.

Everything Stevie releases get's pushed back. I don't think she's had an album come out when they first said it would since about 1989 or so.

oh it starting before that. the album that would become Rock a Little was weeks away from release in summer of 1984 only to be delayed at the final hour for another year and a half.

There's another thread about this. I think it's ****ty that PBS is lying to consumers about the availability of the DVD. It is not released yet. Which means their back order excuse is a lie. It will ship when it is released.

I also am not surprised to see the release date pushed back as I thought it was ****ty to release it right around Buckingham's new album release.

I was reading back on the Lindsey board about Soundstage. It took two years to get it out on DVD. There were several threads that were asking when it was coming out. One of them was yours, demon! Patience is NOT your stronged virtue!

Here's just one of them:

Oh I remember that! There was a radio interview in late '83 where Stevie said something about "who says you need to wait a year to release another album ~ mine's all ready to go" or something like that. As a 14 year old with nothing better to look forward to it was a LONG wait until 1986. At least we had a few soundtrack songs to get us through . . .

Yeah I remember there were adds in Billboard and Rolling Stone in June saying the album would be out in July but oddly for Nicks there was no title mentioned which I thought was kind of fishy and then suddenly it was yanked and then reported she had 'fired " Jimmy Iovine ..of course later in the process he came back for a few songs.

Was that when the album was still called Mirror Mirror? It was released as RAL (of course) in November 1985, which is late in the year for Stevie to release an album, since she usually likes spring/summer release dates.

According to someone at PBS "I have been told that inventory & orders will ship from PBS prior to the public release date. Hopefully, this helps." (source: http://www.stevie-nicks.info/) Since the public release date is September 30th, i assume in a few weeks. Warner is releasing their own version of the DVD and a seperate CD on that date, so i guess that's what the PBS rep is referring to when they say "prior to the public release date".

I'm patient since I burnt the broadcast to DVD, so that will tide me over until I see a copy on the stores shelves.

I think that is what she planned to call it although like I posted there was no title mentioned in any of the adds for it or on MTV as I recall .They did say on MTV that Joe Walsh played on alot of the album ..I guess One More Big Time Rock and Roll Star was one of the remnants of it.
