I hope Lindsey's solo album is already a done deal because I really, really don't want it to become a Mac record but it doesn't look like he'll have time to tour it if he releases it in autumn so it probably will just end up as a Mac album and if it isn't as long as SYW then I'll be even more annoyed because we're getting less Lindsey (who wants to release stuff) for our money and more Stevie (who seems totally indifferent to the creative process these days).

Peestie, I couldn't agree more. I hope Lindsey will release another solo CD before the Mac takes over. I doubt he will have time to do much of a tour if at all. And that's really sad because seeing Lindsey solo is an awesome experience.

That's interesting news there. FM (Lindsey, John, Stevie and Mick) recording a number of new songs in October.

If that's about 4 or 5 new songs for a compilation album, they could put on a few old tunes that feature Christine's lead vocals, thereby becoming somewhat "complete" again. And Lindsey would get more time to find a label or another distribution method for his solo CD whilst they increase interest in everything FM during their tour.
The only problem would be to find a name for the compilation album. They've already used up all of these terms, like "Greatest Hits", "Best Of", "Very Best Of", "Essential". However, if it's the last time, "Ultimate" might be a fitting title.

But if it's indeed a full-length record that rips apart Lindsey's most recent solo album in progress, that might spare some studio time, because John and Mick are already on the GOS material.
Here's hoping that "Twist Of Fate", "Deep Dense", "Gotta Get Away" and the "riffs", whatever they may have become. By inclusion of these, he can keep his new material as the basis for his next solo album.
If it's a full-length, the more interesting thing will be Stevie's songs, though, because in recent years, nothing has surfaced (or has it?)

After all, I guess, by now I've wasted much too much time on a wild guess.

A new Fleetwood Mac record! Honk my hooter!

But, and I am a broken record with regards to this, the band should acknowledge that there aren't many of these left and therefore let Christine play, sing, and write five or six songs for the next one--regardless of her firm position against touring.

I know she says they're all so persuasive, but if they begged her just to make the record with them--no other attachments--she would do it.
