When did David Byrne and Van Halen record "Rhiannon"?

Also, they're all getting older, which also impacts the voice.

I don't think the changes in vocals can be soley blamed on smoking. It didn't help, but Christine and Lindsey smoked, and their voices did not change too drastically. I think Stevie trying to be Janis on "Rhiannon" for all those years is about 90% of why her voice changed so drastically compared to the others. Actually, I think the "Tusk" through "Mirage" era was her best, and I think I'd like her current voice more if she tried her hand at blues or jazz. But, her early voice (Fritz and some of the live Buckingham Nicks) could be annoying, IMO.

As a singer.. I would have to agree that singing improperly will thrash your voice with much more impact than smoking ever would.... I understand your point now...

Maybe he stripped it yelling at them a lot.

Have you heard her lately?

If you compare "Blue" or even "Mingus" to "Shine" her latest effort... you will laugh at how different it is... lolol

I know. If you listen to Both Sides Now (which I love) you can hear the difference. There is still a great richness to her voice though.

Both Sides Now is so much better than Travelogue.. I love her rich voice on Both Sides... "A Case of You" and "Both Sides Now" amazing versions...
