And I could not possibly disagree more about an album being too long. If I'm paying almost 20 bucks for a cd, the more music they cram on it, the better. I don't understand where people get off on wanting less new music. At all. It'd be awesome if it wasn't **** like Silver Girl, but I can excuse that for 17 other at least fairly decent songs.

As far as solo records mashed together with Fleetwood/McVie - what's new about that? Shouldn't we be used to that by now?
I think the white album, Rumours, and Tusk (and even Mirage) were more of a collaborative effort than other Nicks/Buckingham/McVie albums. I think SYW lacked that vibe. It was like a Lindsey solo album and a Stevie one mashed together. In other words, the album didnt flow well together.

I'm not judging SYW on sales. I think that has nothing to do with success (the way I define it anyway). I just think, compared to other Mac albums...and the amount of time they had to work on it that it could've been a better record. I really believe that Christine's absence has a lot to do with it. That being said, I'd rather have SOME incarnation of Fleetwood Mac than none at all. I also would rather see them release more albums than tour so much.

Unfortunately, for older bands like Fleetwood Mac...they tend to make more money being on the road than releasing new material... which likely won't sell as much as in their heydays. And like any other aging people, with more time behind them than in front of them, they are looking to secure their nest eggs. So, there is not much incentive, without a strong creative muse (Stevie?), to put out new music.
