Default The Dance

I already have the cd, but is the video/dvd worth getting? Are there any different songs on there and can you actually hear John sing?

Cool John singing..LOL

Christine SAYS John is singing during "SYLM", but he's basically just going "do, do, do..." to the bass....LOL

YES, get the video or DVD because there ARE songs on there that are NOT on the CD...Gold Dust Woman, Go Insane, Songbird, Gypsy and YMLF.

I think Christy meant to say "Over My Head."

And yes, the DVD (or the VHS) is a must-have, in my opinion.

The DVD/VHS is definitely worth getting. It's so much more electric when you can see the energy and passion everyone is putting into the songs. And of course, that one-of-a-kind chemistry between Stevie and Lindsey is very apparent here and adds a lot to their songs, IMO

For some reason, there's just something about Fleetwood Mac and their music, to me, that's brought to life by actually watching a video of a concert rather than just listening to it on a cd. Stevie's antics are a big part of it...it's great on The Chain right before the "Chai, ai, ain, keep us together," she spins around banging the tambourine to each beat, and of course BARELY makes it to the mic to sing (I love that). Silver Springs is brought to a whole new level when you watch Lindsey and Stevie singing to each other on The Dance video. Mick's faces of course are classic, and even Christine is a little more animated than usual on The Dance. And John...well, he's just John hanging out by Mick. But I would definitely get the video, if anything for Gold Dust Woman. I don't know if you've ever heard it from The Dance Mac Fan, but it's the best performance of the song imo. I love Lindsey's face before Stevie busts out in "GO HOOOOOOOOOOME!" and then after you see Mick just having so much fun banging on the drums. I DEFINITELY recommend getting the video somehow.

Mac Fan, would it be possible for you to rent it from a video store, or borrow it from someone? Once you've seen it, and your Mom has had a chance to view it, perhaps she'll be more likely to let you get it.

I know money is tight for almost every one of us, but in my opinion, 'The Dance' video is worth its price, and deserves a place in a Mac Fan's collection (pun intended).

I agree with literally everything said here. And I'll add one of my own: if you get it for only one reason, get it so you see Lindsey's "I'm about to kill someone"-look as he walks slowly towards the microphone at the beginning of I'm So Afraid!

Seriously though, The Dance is an amazing concert video, to the point where even non-Mac fans would/do really like it. Highly recommend it.

It's been on PBS like every night for a week, and I've rewatched it over and over, but they always skip songs :-( including the hug at the end of Landslide. That and Silver Springs are enough to buy it for me, and Tusk is too funny, with the marching band and Stevie pretending she's in it and mimicking the dance they're doing, it's cute.
