completely agree and saddened that I'm as effected (or is it affected...I can't ever remember) as I am.

I heard Ann Wilson talk about just this very thing yesterday. however, and as much as I love her, I wonder how much of her discussion of this is jaded by her weight gain and the focus on that in the 80s. but, yeah, my point...same thing with Sarah Brightman. I love her. she's talented, but her publicity machine, public image, etc. is what's made her the biggest-selling soprano of all time. anyone that thinks Sarah can go up againts lesser-knowns Kathleen Battle or others is crazy.

It will take awhile to have ripped stomach muscles again. At least she tried.

I'd like to see all of those Brit haters go out on stage in a skimpy bikini and high heeled boots on tv and try to do what some of these performers have to do. For instance, Perez Hilton That guy couldn't get his big toe into Britney's bootie panties she was wearing so he needs to look in the mirror and just remain quiet and promise us he will keep alot of clothes on

No, you're right, but then again I don't make my living by prancing around on stage half naked fake-singing. She didn't look great, and for a "comeback" she should have looked great. She is a performer, and her performance was sloppy & amateurish.

I adore Alicia Keys, can't wait for her new album in Nov.

And yes, her "spindly rhinestone boots" were very pretty. I want them.

i have never been a Brit fan - but i have seen many of her other performances and even though i don't generally like the songs she does or her "style" of music - she has always been a very good dancer/performer.
Enough so that her lip-syncing was forgiven ( by most).

but that performance was so far below anything i have seen her do.
there was no "snap" - forget about "snapple" and "pop" too.

she could hardly be troubled to bend over.
- i think they felt that if you surround her with a bunch of people really dancing and writhing around then no one will notice how she is just kinda standing there. to me it works the opposite. All those good dancers made her look lost and "pilled up" (shout out to sarah the air hockey queen.)

as for her body - what i noticed was more from the front on views, it looks like she had some muffin topping going on above her waist bend. Love handles are natural on a mother of two but this mother of two has enough money to make those things go away (hire an expensive trainer or get it lipo'd out)

i think the song choice was pretty lackluster as well. really just was boring.

Well, you could probably make this case with just about any performer. For example, if Stevie Nicks looked like, oh, Christine McVie, rather than Stevie Nicks, would she have been just as successful/captivating? If Stevie wore man-tailored jackets and jeans and stood behind a piano when she performed, would she be the same enchantress that captured our imaginations with her songs? Image and marketing are not everything, but they are definitely a component of our fascination with certain people.

BTW, this is not a knock against Christine McVie, who is a very handsome woman.

I just watched it again and I really think that a part of it may be that she didn't feel she needed to work hard to prepare for this because she's...Britney. I think her enablers are constantly telling her how fabulous she is and therefore she doesn't have to strive to be anything more than she is. I've never been a fan but at least in the past she could put on some kind of a show. This was painful to watch and I can only imagine the excuses that will come flying from her camp.

As far as her appearance, I thought she looked pretty decent. Who the hell runs around in a bra and panties, though? She's a mess- she needs to focus on her life and her kids. She has enough money to live a comfortable life- whatever talent she had appears to be on hiatus.

they're saying she was pissed. supposedly, she had an agreement with mtv that there would be no jokes about her kids or whatever. she supposedly heard sarah silverman practicing her routine right before she went on, and supposedly threatened to pull out last minute, but was convinced to do it anyway.

that's what they're saying anyway. i have no idea. i still think she looked pill dazed.
