Wow. Talk about an old post. Olivia looks so little. You should post that picture of her with gypsy - unless you have already, I haven't gotten that far.....

Everyone's pets are so cute! I could look at animal pictures all day long.

I have 5 kitties.

Blackie's my girl. She was born under my dresser when I was 11 - 14 years ago! She's got major personality, and always gets into the most awkward positions. Oh, and she much prefers to drink from the sink or tub.

Squeaks was a barn cat at a farm I used to manage. She decided she wanted to live with me, so I've kept her.

Samantha is Squeaks younger sister. She was too cute, I had to keep her.

Bridget was adopted by a friend of mine right before she got a boyfriend. She asked me to watch Bridget (in my house) so she could spend a week with him - 8 months later, when she was still at his house, I decided she wasn't getting Bridget back. That was over 5 years ago!

I rescued Parker as a kitten, not quite 3 years ago. He was starving and had all sorts of issues - infected eye, worms, etc. He died very suddenly a few months ago - we didn't know it, but he had cardiomyopathy. He was beyond extra special.

My newest has only been with me for a few weeks. A friend found her strangling herself in a hockey net, but couldn't keep her. So, Sage has come home to my little family.

And I can't help but mention my big pet, LeRoi :

I shrank the pictures, I hope they come up okay.

Ricky is home after 1 1/2 days and $1600 vet bill. He seems to be in quite a bit of pain, probably because he had a catheter for 24 hours. But he can pee. Hopefully the diet change will help; otherwise we are looking at surgery.

I hope Ricky continues to do well and doesn't need any surgery.

I do feel your pain. Buster, my kitty, was at the vet for 3 1/2 days last month which cost about $1400. He had a high fever that wasn't going away. After many tests, x-rays, and ultrasounds, the vets found nothing and thought he might just have a viral infection. He has been doing well ever since.

Hope both of your pets continue to recover. Those posts make me want to get pet health insurance. Do any of you have it?

He's well. I haven't been to a single event this summer though. He 'tweaked' his suspensory back in Nov., was sound within 2 weeks, but I pretty much gave him the winter. Don't want to rush that one! Then I've had trouble with my schedule, haven't been able to take lessons or even jump consistantly, so though I've been riding, it hasn't been as focused. Plus, money is tight. We're just now getting back in the swing of things, had a fantastic ride today and are getting back in teh jump ring and field. My goal is to do at least a couple of events before the season is out. At least we've managed a couple of hunter paces!

What about you? Last I heard, your new guy - was a suspensory he did? I don't quite remember, but I know it wasn't long after you got him.

He's lucky to have you. I know there are people who exist who would rather put the pet down than spend any large kind of money on vet bills. I've never understood that.

Good luck to you and Ricky for a very quick recovery!

That was definitely smart to give him some time off. My horse actually had deterioration of the cartilage in his coffin joint which was only visible on the MRI. I gave him away last fall because that's something that's obviously not going to get better. He would be okay as a pasture horse or as a trail horse but not much more than that. I haven't bought anything new yet.

She isn't choking him, I swear.

Gypsy has to be the coolest looking cat I've ever had. His markings are awesome.

Terry, I don't but I wonder if I should. Hopefully, someone will chime in with some advice on that. JAG is a softie...bet he makes for a good sleep buddy. Thanks for sharing your pic and your well wishes for PEPE.

WildWind...gypsy does have cool markings and olivia is adorable!

Ryan...what type of surgery? My vet didn't get into that at all...he just said PEPE has a "disease" and stated that the blocks would continue to occur periodically if the new diet provides no improvement. He has improved over the last couple of days in that he is not licking himself, appears to be wizzing normally and seems his usual playful self.

Wow, that's horrible! What a disappointment. Well, I'm sure you found a great place for him and he'll have a good life. ARe you going to start looking for something new yet? Have you been competeing at all?
