Default Mohegan Review

Incredible show!!!! Easily the best show I've ever seen of Stevie's!! She looks great, she sounds great. She looks and sounds better now than she has in years. I don't know if every show is like this but she was firing on all pistons tonight. She was funny, she was talkative, she seemed to be having a lot of fun up there, as a result the crowd did too. After "I Need To Know" she began to intro the next song and stopped and said "Wow, I'm worn out from that last song!!" One of my favorite moments (and please don't tell me this is the same at every show) but she dedicated "Landslide" to "everyone here tonight, and all of your families and especially to all of your fathers." After the song she got a long standing ovation. She appeared to be taken off guard by the reaction. She said nothing, just stood there then finally said "Thank you......my dad is certainly with us tonight." and she began to tear up. She fanned herself with her hands and paused again and said "Well my dad would have said 'Stevie get on with show!' so I'm going to get on with the show!!" It was a really cool moment.
Vanessa Carlton opened. What was funny was she received no intro she just walked out and began to play. After her first song she introduced herself. She got a great reaction from the crowd so much so that towards the end of her set she said that this show was her favorite so far on the tour. I can't say that I was a fan of hers, but she is very cute and her set was fairly enjoyable.
Since 1986 I've seen Stevie a total of eight times. Tonight's show was easily the best I've seen of hers. Unlike past tours she didn't appear to be going thru the motions, she seemed to be having a lot of fun tonight. She was hitting her marks with deadly precision. The crowd was also really great too, the only time I saw people up walking around was during "Sorcerer" which I thought was really strong on stage. IN fact all of the arrangements in this set are really strong. As much as I loved it, if I had to pick out something that didn't click, it would be "How Still My Love" which I thought was incredible (finally got to hear it live!) but it seems to screw with the pacing of the show. That's my only nitpick complaint of the show.
What can I say, I had a complete blast at the show, I won $75 in the casino before the show too. People have complained about the set list, which I didn't think was bad at all. Stevie's energy and overall performance more than made up for the "problems" with the set. Stevie impressed the hell out of me tonight. I can't say enough how f**king awesome the show was. By the end of the show, I was dripping with sweat and exhausted.

Thanks for the review. I saw her early in the tour and was hoping she could keep up the enthusiasm. Glad to see she has. Hope Jimmy was able to get tickets.

Thanks for the comments on the show... It sure sounds like she's putting out the effort at each show... I wonder if it's because it's a relatively short tour, so she feels that she doesn't have to some what pace herself to last for the long haul? In any case it's great to hear that people are having a blast!

I wish I could have been there! like eclipse, I could not get a ticket either, and was greatly dissapointed, but all I can say is that hopefully she tours again.

The show sounded great though, did anyone take any pictures?

The show was sold out but there were empty seats.
She was on fire tonight...best show out of the 3 I have seen in the last 2 weeks.

Stand Back - I love how she did the bend down crouching thing that she used to do on Rhiannon.

Enchanted - I just think it is a fun song.

If Anyone Falls - I love this song...I will never get tired of hearing it.

Rhiannon - When she was screaming the words it was freakin haunting!!

Dreams - She told a pretty decent story about Sausalito...she was very chatty...she tried to hit the high note but didn't quite get there.

Sorcerer - She was telling the story about becoming a waitress and she was on fire with this one.

Gold Dust Woman - Out of the 3 shows in 2 weeks that I have seen her this was the longest version I have heard. Longer intro...then a nice little solo in the middle of the song....awesome awesome.

I Need To Know - Kicked ass! Got the scream like in the old Rock A Little days. I loved the part at the end where she said "I am so out of breath from that last song...thanks Tom"

Landslide - I can't remember what she said but it was something on the line of bringing people together not so much a song about love and that she needs to email it to everyone.

How Still My Love - We got some more wild orgasmic screams

During the end of How Still My Love I said screw it and rushed the stage with Kristin and Jessie from SW and another gal and Wendy and Andy.

Edge of Seventeen was wild...I don't remember too much about it cause I was taking videos with my phone. I almost missed Stevie coming over to me.
I held out my hand and she grabbed it and in my hand I had a purple bracelet for her that supports the Matthew Shepard Act. The bracelet says "Erase Hate" she looked at it and said thank you and tried to put it on but was not able to fit it over her glove but she gave it to her guy who dropped it but quickly picked it up. I was able to touch her boot...Her boots are like velvet...

Rock and Roll - I love this live. Vanessa sang back-up on this one.

Beauty and the Beast - She just nailed it.

No complaints bout the set list...I had a great time.

I have complaints about the people (casino points members who got free tickets) If you are going to sing along to Landslide...can you at least get the words right?? I am sorry I also go to concerts to listen to the artist not to have people try to talk my ear off the whole time. I moved my seat like 5 times.

It was great to see everyone new and old.
Peace out!
eric

You moved seats? I am guessing security was very nice.

Eric, great review!!

It was nice to meet you at the show.

I thought her performance at The Tweeter Center was fantastic, but I think this show was even better!

God, I'm tired...
