she did more than just disagree. Anyone who accuses me of having "my own agenda" of not being able to "think rationally" is no friend of mine. (not even taking into account the "drinking heavily" or "living in lala land" comments... )

I may have a bias but we all do. My main point is that because this leaked out, I believe Ireland will be safer, which IMO is a good thing.

I personally think both parents are as bad as each other. Baldwin went too far in his rant in that voice message and Kim went too far leaking it. I'd be mortified if I was a 12 year old kid having to deal with everyone in the world hearing that. Both are damaging IMO

ITA. Kim is just as bad for leaking the tape in the first place. She publically embarrassed her daughter for her own gain. Sad and pathetic move. I fail to see how Ireland is safer as a result of her Mom's self serving move. However, I am not really familiar with the facts of the case, just generalities. Is Kim accusing Alec of being physically abusive? Is there any proof that he has physically mistreated his daughter or do we just have the Mom making these allegations?

Kelly, as far as I know the physical abuse was by Alec to Kim. Ive not seen any hard evidence that Alec ever got physical with his daughter, but I do know that verbal abuse and physical abuse often go hand in hand generally speaking.

as for your question re: Ireland being safer (I assume you're referring to MY prior comment) 1) I believe the Courts will take steps to ensure her safety based on this voicemail and 2) Alec will be more circumspect in his treatment of her.

btw, Im not surprised Alec's family is publicly supporting him, thats to be expected isnt it??

In an ideal world, divorcing parents would set aside their personal feelings about their ex, and work in concert for the good of the children. Im not sure where the hatred in this case stems from but apparently there must be SOME reason why these two are so locked in this power struggle

Um...well I wasn't accusing you...it's clear! And it is a disagreement, which apparently (like *some* other peopel on this board) you're not allowed to engage in and still be friends.

And I do maintain that *anyone* who thinks all mothers are selfless saints because they simply gave birth IS, in fact, living in lala land. Your own agenda...well you're judging this whole case solely on your own, or at least that's where you said you were coming from, that is not rational...I'm sorry. You also admit freely to knowing very little about this...yet continue to argue about it..again, not so rational.

And you've yet to mention that Kim was equally physically abusive to Alec...also a known factor in this. But there is absolutely no evidence that he's been physically abusive to Ireland, nor has Kim...but clearly they're both using the kid in this. Though many on here disagree with me on the severity of the tape - I do not think it goes hand in hand with physical abuse...all it did was serve to embarass Ireland.

my whole point in posting my (and my son's) experience was to show that 1) many times, mothers (and children) are not believed by courts unless something really HUGE happens and 2) legal posturing is standard operating procedure in Family Court cases. You'd be surprised.

I never said ALL mothers were selfless saints...what I did say was that I believed Kim had more noble motives than any of you were willing to give her credit for. Im giving her the benefit of the doubt, because truly, the only person who OBVIOUSLY did something questionable here is Alec. I dont know who leaked the voicemail. and neither do you.

As for my not knowing anything about this, the truth is, none of us do. Im merely positing posible explanations and opinions based on MY OWN knowledge of the Family Court system and the ugly realities of child abuse.

I never said Alec physically abused Ireland. And we only have Jason's hearsay that Kim was abusive to Alec. Perhaps she was. But Alec didnt claim any physical harm from Kim in HIS statements in the past, yet Kim stated Alec caused her back injury. Thus, I dont think its outside the realm of possibility that Kim may have been defending herself. Also perfectly understandable.
