Oh yeah...I burned a copy of the entire interview as well as my finished piece. And last night Lily Tomlin said her assistant may be calling for a tape, as they usually do. So we'll see...all in all a good experience.

Anyway, before the show I was looking for the house manager about the backstage thing. At that point my mom snuck off and submitted a question for the Q and A which follows the show, only it wasn't a question.

Lily Tomlin actually read it...something like, "I'm here from Las Cruces with Deanna Garcia..." blah blah blah. Lily was like, "oh! You're here with Deanna Garcia? And from Las Cruces? Wow...." then she talked about Las Cruces and invited my mom backstage as well, but then my mom screamed out "I LOVE YOU!" And Lily said, "Sorry, I already have a wife..." So my mom shouts back, "I can be your mistress" Oye.

Backstage I really wish I could have spoken to Lily more - but my mom, of course, overshadowed, but Lily was very gracious and nice and hopefully didn't think we were complete freaks - I figure she's seen worse, right?

Anyway...I'm in my late 20s and still mortally embarassed by my mother, is that normal?

I'm a HUGE Lily fan too! However, these videos are scary...

It looks like they both handled the situation badly IMHO. It is just so surprising to see that she's not all ****s and giggles on set...I assumed wrong.
