absolutely.

the idea that healthy food is expensive is ridiculous. if you don't buy food that's prepackaged, preportioned, and processed, you can eat cheaply and healthfully.

I meant food that is "quick and easy," like that at McDonald's... which was what chiliD was referring to.

I do have to add, though, that when I was on the South Beach Diet, it was definitely more expensive to buy all of the low-fat, low/no-carb stuff that you're required to eat, then it is to just buy regular food.

well, naturally those specific diets are going to be more expensive. you should go on the "carrie eats healthy for $20/week" diet. i'm serious, it works.

i think that's the basis of it, yeah. so really, you could do it cheaply. but if you buy their special SBD frozen dinners & ****, then it gets expensive.

i've got cheap & healthy eating down to a fine art. it's all about nuts, legumes, chicken, tuna, and veggies. oh, and peanut butter. and apples.

speaking of apples, i broke my apple slicer in an apple yesterday. now i'm a little scared of the other 3 apples i bought at the same time.

Plus, I don't eat fish -- or seafood of any kind for that matter -- so that's automatically scratched off the list of choices for me.

I've got the book. If you've got a personal chef, it'll work out great. Otherwise, who the hell has time to cook like that?
