I don't know if theres many Beatles fans here but if you are then you probably know of The Beatles recent album Love. It consist of the classic beatles songs combined and rearrange from one particular song on to another.
My question is this; would Fleetwood Mac fans like to have a similar album released. Lets say Ken Caillat & Richard Dashut produced the an album and had free range and could experiment all they want. For example the bass part in The Chain rearranged into Golddust Woman or the vocals of beautifil Child done over the instrumental of Sara (just throwing some crazy examples out there) So what do you think, could it work? or what new arrangements would you guys like to see. If you listened to the Beatles album Love you know some of the songs worked well and sound quite good but it might be more difficult with Fleetwod Macs material. That would be so cool, but I don't think Fleetwood Mac is capable of doing some sort of medley (well, the Grammy medley, but that is another story)! I don't think such a thing will happen, because there is too much ego in this band, that no one would be happy with the result and the idea will be "postponed"!

Wow. Interesting idea, however I was sorely disappointed with the Beatles "Love" so...

Got my Mom 'Love' for Christmas and listened to it myself recently.
I liked it, but I thought that more upbeat moments would have given it some balance. It was a little too heavy on the "dreamy" side. I do think, though, that it might be a cool thing for Fleetwood Mac.

Heh. You won't ever hear me say I'm disappointed by anything dealing with the Beatles' music! Anyway... A FM album like this would be cool. Obviously it will never happen, but it would still be cool. Maybe some of our more talented Ledgies could put together some musical mac collages? ![]()

The thing is, the Beatles, as a group, have been dormant(dead) for decades. The Love album, I guess, sort of makes some sense now (I have no opinion nor any interest in it). Did Paul or Ringo have any input or involvement with the project?
Fleetwood Mac, on the other hand, is still kicking...somewhat. For a producer to put an album out like that would pretty much seal their coffin. I say let it wait another decade or so. Even then, not sure it's even appropriate for Fleetwood Mac. The Beatles' melodies are in a league of their own.

I would rather see FM release remixes or alt versions that already existed. LOTS of remixes from the 80's that have never officially been put on our cd.
Just my vote!! |

I haven't thought too much about the concept of a whole album, but I'd really love to hear a "Why/I'd Rather Go Blind" medley. The arrangement of "Why" would have to be like the '75-'76 version, where John becomes the most prominent right before the "You don't have to give up..." part. He'd play a few bars of "Why" and then slip into "I'd Rather Go Blind." The band would do the full song, and then finish up "Why."
