I have never bothered to listen to "Angel" live either, apart from the one on the Tusk doco. I don't like the song much anyway - do you recommend these Carrie?

these are all fantastic. especially, as i told dee, st. louis and hbo special. if the hbo special version doesn't make you want to get up and dance, you're a lost cause.

Well, I think the song is stupid - but I will download the HBO special and see how the live version stack up

you think the song is stupid? dear god. i don't even know what to say. i guess it wasn't one of my favorites until i heard a couple live versions. they had such a good time doing it on stage, they got into it so much ... it's just fab.

I like the st. louis one because it's pretty close to the tusk doc (imo)

and it's not so much the lyrics, it's how forceful her voice is-especially the end....

I love the "i still look up..yeah... I TRY HARD not to look up"

carrie....I just listened to HBO and I like st.louis more. the HBO seems less raw or something

I get that its not supposed to be taken that seriously, but I still just feel indifferent to it

I did too, for the longest time. Then one day it just hit me. I don't know what it was.

As far as the lyrics-eh..I mean...I think the part I quoted earlier is pure brilliance "I still look up when you walk in the room" etc. But the rest, I'm like.."huh??" hahah....

I felt that way about the song for a while. But it grew on me big time after watching Stevie perform it live. It's still not one of my favorite Stevie songs but it is a fun song to sing and dance too. The other FM "Angel" is good too.

see. and I think that's why I LIKE the st. louis one. Because it's so rigid.."track a ghost THROUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGHH the fog...bab-ey" -those are the stevie vocals I love.
