oh, that's awesome. I think I'd be great at that too, but I don't want the pressure of not having a steady income. I really wanted to be a massage therapist from day one. my parents talked me out of it and now I'm scared I won't be able to make a decent living if I do it.

new? here? not ****. I'm finishing my outfits for Boston. other than that, it's work, work out, eat and sleep. that's about it.

..no he's not bitter...he is simply looking at her career from a wider spectrum or scope than most do.

No. and I understand most of what he is saying. He has made good points. and I am in no way trying to take that away from him, challenge that, or disagree. SHe DOES need to take risks. She DOES need to switch things up, she DOES need to re-commit to her craft, and feel the passion that she is capable of. I get all that. But claiming that well crafted, decently preformed, stand the test of time songs are "just a good excuse to pee" IS insulting. thats when you have crossed over farther than "looking at a career from a wider spectrum"

I'm not at all bitter.

I just know what I like and don't like.

Unbelievable.

There's a cool new CD/DVD "Best Of" compilation coming out on March 27th. That's definitely "product."
You're kidding!

I do watch recordings of the concerts... I just don't happen to be there in person. If anything, I would think the shows would be more compelling and exciting if one were actually in attendance, rather than less so.
Apples and oranges.

At the end of the day (literally, since it's almost 3am), I still feel it comes down to the attitude of the person viewing the performance. If someone is disinterested in a certain song, nothing is going to change that.
Lindsey could perform "Save Me A Place" without any clothes on and riding a unicycle and I'd still find the song to be terribly boring.
"Landslide" was interesting at Stormy Weather with the different arrangement. Courtney Love singing "Rhiannon" recently was tons of fun. The Deep Dish "Dreams" is a hoot.
It isn't the songs, its the dreary performances and arrangements of them that don't hold my interest. And I totally do leave the room during "Landslide".
And sometimes during "Rhiannon" too. "Dreams" not so much. It's early enough in the show so that no fluid issues need to be dealt with.

I think her voice is the key. In the Sorcerer video in the other thread, he voice to me just sounds off. And, I think she is animated during it and is selling it to the back row.

The verses are awesome - but in the chroruses she goes way flat on the longer notes. It's a shame, because it's one of my faves.

I think she sings that song too low to begin with. I know she has range, she is just hesitant to use it -- then she does on other songs. Go figure

Be that as it may, I have a feeling that I'd still find the performances compelling and entertaining if I were right there in the arena with her. Probably much moreso.
So I don't see how my thoughts on the matter have any less bearing or merit than yours.

With all of those pee breaks, I hope you're getting your prostate examined on a regular basis!

I have never liked any of her "live" performances of Sorcerer for the same reason...
