Default Reflections.... the best of Stevie Nicks

I just saw this posted on 'another board'.

Quote:
Just received this from Warner Music. Not everything is confirmed, but looks great!!!

Here are the details I have so far:

On March 27th we will be releasing a Stevie Nicks greatest hits collection entitled "Reflections...The Very Best of Stevie Nicks".

There is a CD only version, and the tracklisting is not confirmed, as of yet, but will most likely be as follows:

1. Edge Of Seventeen - studio version
2. I Can't Wait
3. Sorcerer
4. If Anyone Falls
5. Stop Dragging My Around
6. Silver Springs - orig FM master
7. Dreams - Deep Dish remix version
8. Rhiannon - live
9. Rooms On Fire
10. Talk To Me
11. Landslide - live
12. Stand Back - live
13. Has Anyone Ever Written A Song For You
14. Planets Of The Universe
15. Rock n Roll - live (Zep cover)
16. Leather & Lace
17. Edge Of Seventeen - live

The other version is a CD/DVD. CD tracklisting will remain the same, and DVD tracklist will contain some or all of the following.

Again, this tracklisting is not yet confirmed:

Rooms On Fire
If Anyone Falls
Talk To Me
I Can't Wait
Sorcerer (w/Sheryl Crow)
Stand Back
Stop Dragging My Heart Around (w/ Tom Petty)
Whole Lot Of Trouble
If You Ever Did Believe (w/Sheryl Crow)
Blue Denim (video & audio on CD/DVD configuation only)
Everyday (video & audio on CD/DVD configuration only)

Voice Over commentary on 3 or 4 songs (Stand Back, Stop Dragging, etc.)
Interview (audio only with Dave Wilde)
Stevie's artwork
Video from Storytellers (Rhiannon?)
EPK "Enchanted"

Some highlights of this package include "Landslide" and "Edge of Seventeen" live from Melbourne, Australia with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, which both sound amazing, as well as a gorgeous live version of Rhiannon that includes a prolonged piano intro. BUT...the "piece de resistance" is the Steve Nicks voice over commentary on a few of the older videos and footage.

A voice over? That sounds...interesting. Mick finally gave her Silver Springs? The EO17 and Landslide live are the CD is the Melbourne Symphony ones? So no video? Are the other live performances from that show also? We finally get the clips in a decent form? (remastered, 5.1 sound?) Stevie's artwork on a DVD?

Aaah, so many questions!

How reliable is this source? Why would she put a Fleetwood Mac song on a solo release, she doesn't have permission from Mick to use it.

That, plus...

"13. Has Anyone Ever Written A Song For You"

... and the fact that the list says "not confirmed" at least 3 times.

I like the first fake tracklist that was passed around better, anyway.

The DVD list sounds cool, tho.

That was posted by the same person who initially posted word about the release, he/she is a store manager for HMV in Canada and just received the release listings. Apparantly.

Hmm... interesting. I'm going to take a "wait and see" attitude on this song selection though, as it could just be another bogus tracklisting -- like the one posted here a few months ago.

If it is real, then let me voice my displeasure here and now that they'd give up two slots on the CD to "Edge of Seventeen." I can think of ten other songs that could have been included instead.

The rest looks cool though.

I hope that's on there with "Thunder Only Happens When It's Raining."

Ha. That joke never gets old!

I don't want to believe these track listings because they suck.

Well, the most interesting thing on it is the R&R cover, which does not have the word "live" next to it. Could it really be a studio cut, which would be incredible.

Other than the inclusion of a second version of "Edge," I don't think it's really that bad of a tracklisting, overall.
A nice amount of huge hit singles and familiar radio tracks for the casual fans to want to buy it, but also some cool additions for the diehards ("Rock And Roll," live performances from Melbourne, and the Deep Dish version of "Dreams" -- for those who don't already own it).

Personally, I would have left off the songs originally recorded with Fleetwood Mac and focused ONLY on Stevie's solo material, but the inclusion of those songs does set it apart from Stevie's previous compilations (well, aside from the piano version of "Rhiannon" on 'Enchanted,' of course).

I also think it is bogus because SS is on it and FM has refused her that song before. Granted, FM has released it, but still. Anyway, if it's true- great.
