Paula- all the individual pieces were knit, but then they needed to be felted- like what you do to a wool sweater when you accidentally throw it in the wash, only on purpose. Most people who have seen it don't think it was knit either.

Oh, I knew it. Every time I say "oh, she reminds me of you!" The person will say "oh, we're not related!" At least in this case I'm not the only one who thinks you resemble each other a bit.
