The Other Side of the Mirror made #3 and Rooms on Fire #16

I still think this is because Stevie did Rooms on Fire on TOTP which was the UK's only main source of the latest music through the 80's..i mean the USA had loads of music shows and MTV but we didn't get MTV until '88 and even then it wasn't very popular until the '90's.

Actually Stevie did TOTP because Rooms On Fire was at number 16. I remember it well and still have it on video. Back then you could only appear on the show in you were already in the chart. The song was played constantly on MTV Europe and I heard it a lot on Radio 1 too. I think it did well because, obviously it's a great single, but also it helped coming off the back of the success of Tango In The Night (That album was huge in the UK.) Stevie got a lot of press here at the time too, with interviews in Melody Maker, Raw, Record Mirror, The Mirror newspaper, to name but a few. All of that helped as well I think.

I saw Stevie at Wembley Arena in 1989 like Neil. It was my first ever concert. Pip from this board was there too. Those dates are the only times she has ever played solo in this country or Ireland.

Actually, Stevie appeared on TOTP when it was at 21...check it out (Damn BBC made the mime):

But Talk To Me and I Can't Wait both made the top 30 I think and no sign of Stevie ANYWHERE on TOTP. Tango was before I was born so I have no idea about it's level of Huge-Ness. What a bummer about OSOTM tour being the only tour to hit the UK..imagine if Wild Heart or Bella Donna hit the UK back in the day that wud have been amazing!

the unlikliest thing to happen EVER:

Time is recognised as the greatest album of the last 50 years and outsells Rumours in the space of a year

34. Fleetwood Mac fans cease all petty "tastes great v. less filling" arguments.
