sorry I'm kind of new here so I dont know you all well but I'm kind of confused about this. is it some competition you have to get the most posts. is it seen as good to have the most. I can gather than much I supposed.I was just wondering why. I dont mean to be rude at all I just dont understand why everyone wants to post a lot.

are all the top posters americans. just seems like a message board kind of thing I've seen it on other ones. I just find it strange cause I couldn't care if I had 50 posts or 500. just curious.

I don't think anyone really takes it all that seriously. It's just a bit of silliness and gives you "bragging rights" (in a tongue-in-cheek way).
Much like the regulars down at the local bar all patting Jimbo on the back because he downed the most beers last Friday night.

Silliness is right...I've been here since freakin' 2000 - and I'm one of a handful of old-time Ledgies (you included) I think that's more of a call for bragging rights than excessive post counts...

I say that now but again I was totally miffed when I lost 2000+ posts a while back...but whatever...I gotta have a life outside of The Ledge...


Aw poodles. you can't sort members by join date...bummer....though if you could I'm sure there would be tons of folks who don't and never have posted...oh well.

I have no interest in being #01 (for this anyway...teehee..)
but seriously. Until I hit 1,000 posts, no one EVER responded to my posts(hell..they still don't ), never got a pm, etc. I think there is a hidden frame on the door that says "don't talk to newbies until they hit 1,000. Then they are cool enough"

I was a huge thread killer up until recently..and I still kill a good number of threads

I've been here since 2000 but have never been in any inner cliques or circles...and for the life of me I can't figure out how people have gotten 20+ posts....it's just insane.

Don't worry! I've been here for nearly four years and even now people rarely respond to my posts. Rather aptly I really do feel like a ghost here sometimes. I'm probably too boring plus no one ever gets my jokes! I was practically attacked once for joking that Paris Hilton is really talented.

I think I'm in the top 40 or 50 posters overall, which is fine by me.

Well I'm responding to ya! Maybe it's that Brit sense of humour

I just don't seem to have the time lately to post that often... and then it's hard to keep involved with the groups of friends that are the regular posters
