I worked. Well first I got up and worked out...figured I'd have the gym to myself (guess several other people thought that as well). Then I went to the Cracker Barrel to get their special Thanksgiving plate...I got two so I'd have leftovers

Then I ate at home w/ Clancy ...then went to work. Slow and quiet day - it was nice all in all...eventually though I think I'd like to work somewhere where I get ALL the holidays off. I'm sick of having to work all non-major holidays and then getting stressed out over the possibility of working Christmas.

we are SO in the wrong biz for that! i worked christmas eve and christmas day last year - and it's not the first time by any means. and i've been in this business for 12 years now. i've learned to just resign myself to it - and try to have fun with everyone else who has to work. we're all in it together - might as well make the most of it. of course i was OFF christmas the year of the tsunami - and went to my mom's out east. i wound up flying back early (on the 26th) because i was sitting at her house watching the death toll climb, and thinking, "i have to go home and go to work!"

i even worked the millennium new year's eve!! (we had to be ready in case all the crazy Y2K stuff happened right? i was on the air from 10pm to 1am). there's a big "L" tatooed on my forehead.

I know...I got spoiled because my first radio station automated on the major holidays - so I had Thanksgiving and Christmas off no question..and I was closer to home.

That's what sucks now is that not only do I have to work but I'm so far from everything....

And sadly when I do work holidays..I'm solo... No one to have fun with while working the holiday...

I don't mind working New Years as I never have anything better to do anyway

But yeah wrong biz for the holiday time off...which makes me think even more strongly about getting my ass back to school for my masters BUT I do love my job when it's not the holiday season - I'm sure eventually I'll get used to it.

Andre doesn't talk about his either, while flirting with everyone on the board.

I went to Mom's BF's sister's. It was nice. There is less dysfunction there although they are not free of it. They're a warm family and Martha is a good cook! My super fudgy frosted brownies came out great too. Even though I did not make them from scratch cuz I was not home and did not want to have to buy every single little ingredient to make them since Mom is not a baker. They were the Hershey's ones, oh yummy, with fudge frosting. Oh yes, I frosted them for extra decadence. Then topped them with walnuts.
I cleaned house and got the tree up and decorated. Thankfully, I have pared down my decorations to just the bare essentials. I dont really enjoy Xmas like I do Halloween (trick or treating next year baby!) but I have this white artificial tree (hate the idea of trees dying just for a two week show....) and I have these blue lights on white cord so you dont see the cord, and lots of pretty clear/purple/blue candy ornaments that I hang....at night, I take off my glasses and let my eyes go all blurry and its a veritable Winter Wonderland THAT is my favorite part! I may rake tomorrow. maybe.

As am I, but every other post of mine doesn't have a sexual undertone directed to a Ledgie. I know it's in good fun, but sometimes I just roll my eyes.

Sorry.
