Default Misheard Stevie Lyrics

My latest favorite was "Illume"
Originally I thought she said:
"Illume..like Keith's dad said, I am a cliffdweller from the old school.
instead of -
"Illume..like it dances. LOL!

Next time listen for it..it's a Keith Olsen reference..lol!!!

Me too!

"But never have I been a blue corn seed/I have always been a storm."

I think I actually sang that out loud a few times before it actually registered that it made no sense.

We've had several threads like this, of course I can't find them now for some reason.

For years I thought that "well I've showed you all my cards" from TTM was "Well I've showed you, oh my God, well isn't that enough"

Someone posted that they (or someone they knew) thought "pick up the pieces" from GDW was "pick up the pizzas." I still laugh about that one.

I have several

Stop draggin my heart around on "so you had a little trouble in town"
I thought was "ran a little trouble"

or is it the other way around??

anyway-NQA
"when I see him..I feel him-there's an intenseness, in him...in his eyes"
I thought was "there's an intenseness..in his arms...in his eyes"

paper doll-
"he says 'well I have forgotten you and your beautiful eyes' "
I thought was "your beautiful lies"

I don't want to know
correct: "finally baby-the truth has been told"
michelle:"finally baby-the truth is getting told"
correct: "you say you love me but you don't know"
michelle:"but you don't boy"

I know someone who thought gypsy was "you'll say you're a gypsy" and on "the chaaaaain...keeps us together"-they looked at me and said "who in the hell is shane??"

that's all for now. There are tons

I just had to listen to NQA. I was SURE it was 'in his arms'!

I have a few others too:

It took me forever to realise she wasn't singing "I'm waiting for a kneejerk to just something I must do" in Kick It.

I thought the line in Greta was "just how many odd lovers can one get to know"

The Nightmare is the worst for misheard lyrics for me.

"She paled in the wake" becomes "she failed in the way"

and

"Well, if she had flung out her heart against him
Then in all of her wisdom" becomes "Well she has love in her heart that gets invented all the wisdom"

I think I need to take a refresher course in Nicksian lyrics

In Gypsy..I thought she sang:
"She was just a witch..she was just a witch"
Instead of, "She was just a wish"

When I first heard "Everday", I could have sworn Stevie was singing:

"Everyday I see you,
Everyday I need you,
Everyday I breed you..."

Here are two howlers:

1. The first time I eard "Landslide" (back wen I was about 10) I thought se sang "And when I saw my reflection it was no cup of tea."

2. Then, later, when "Stand Back" came out I first thought "I need a little sympathy" (at the end) was "I need a little simple beat."
