My brother still has his 70 Dodge Charger, he bought it when he got out of the Service. That car is in PRISTINE shape, and he modified it slightly when he raced it at Freemont Raceway. He also had a 69 Corvette, which he took me to my High School Graduation in. I felt so cewl riding up to the High School in a superfast 'Vette!

Im a muscle car kinda gal myself.....one of my favorite cars is the Chevy Malibu, probably late 60's with a small block engine (327). I like the SuperSport version best

Cars? Don't even go there. I have to buy a new one and it is killing me. It is also killing me that I don't one at the moment.
I don't want to spend a lot of $ on a stupid car that I will be paying month after month for years. I will need a good one for October, however.
Anybody have any new car advice?

I can tell you that Hondas and Toyotas hold their value the best.....and they are good on gas, which is a HUGE plus! I wish I could afford to get a commuter car....

Yeah, that is what people at work keep telling me. I did 'buy' a 2006 Toyota Corolla but I changed my mind the next day. I still thought that it was too much $.

Subaru & Nissan cars also get great gas mileage (Our '96 Nissan Sentra GXE, which has about 318,000 still gets an average 37 miles per gallon-Which is great considering Deb puts 500 miles a week on the odometer commuting). Like my Mom said, "Drive it til it is absolutely blown up and cannot be repaired", which is what we do to our Nissan.

Still wished I would have kept my '79 Subaru BRAT, but that's alright, In the future I am planning on purchasing a Subaru Baja (Which is the BRAT with a new name).

My older brother owns a Shelby Dodge Avenger, which is a beautiful car. He even had Carroll Shelby (Creator of the 427 Shelby Cobra & the designer of the Ford Mustang) sign the dashboard. Only about 800 were made.

My parents, God bless 'em both, were muscles cars enthusiasts:

Mom owned a '76 Pontiac Trans Am & '68 Camaro SS.
Dad owned a '69 GTO Judge convertible & a '62 Malibu Stationwagon

well, I have a 2001 maxima that was about 15,000 and my payment is 325 per month so I'm assuming 21k would be much more than that. But if you got a new car and were able to negotiate a 0% interest that it would be quite a bit cheaper.

probably the generation they grew up in....I sorta get it by default because my older brother was into muscle cars and I think my generation was the last one to really own them en masse...in other words as a group. they were everywhere you looked when I was growing up. The Mach 1's, the Cameros/Firebirds, the Malibus the 'Cudas, Corvettes, etc....Its funny, when I was in the Bay Area (in the late 60's) it was all about the "sky kings" but when I moved more to the Delta (East Bay Area) you saw more low riders/cruising cars. different strokes for different folks I guess...

My dad has a 1971 Cuda, I think the color is called Hemi orange? I'm probably wrong on that.

A 1969 Camaro is my dream car! I want one so bad, I can taste it. I'm just looking on a good deal for one, and I'll buy it!

Here is a car loan calculator http://www.bankrate.com/brm/auto-loan-calculator.asp

For a $21,000 car at 0% (.01 actually cuz it wouldn't take zero) and 5 years the payment is $350/mo. 3% = $377 and 7%= $416.

I want the convertible, sport Camry Solara.
