If I had one, I would, make no mistake. Corn is a grain, not a vegetable. I just read that the other day. Talk to me when you eat some leafy greens.

I thought you meant you had a corn and carrot salad. Made of corn and carrots.
Now Seeker, c'mon, did you use dark green lettuce or iceberg? Hmmm?
I don't care what that thing says, a smarter dr./nutritionist said it's a grain. I never trust the USDA anyways.

Not USDA (US drug adninistration) - USDOA - United States Department of AGRICULTURE. And yes, dark green and iceberg BOTH.

^^^^ That doesn't matter, if we believed science as if it were static, as if there weren't knew discoveries and designations all the time, we'd still think the world is flat. I'm definitely going to believe my guy over all those. Especially since he said "just discovered". Go type in "corn grain".

BUT i believe most places make a clear delineation between the nutritional value of dark green veggies vs. that of other veggies.

Corn is hardly "new". Corn is considered a Starchy VEGETABLE unless it is processed. The corn is put through a drying process when it arrives at the plant. It is then cleaned, steamed and the tough outer hull is removed. Degermination occurs next, leaving only the endosperm. The endosperm is then passed through rollers to break it into granules. At this point the corn is considered a "grain". (More through usage than for designation)

I am going to believe in John Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, Harvard Medical, and other universities over "One Guy". (Who is he anyway? And why did he think it needed to be reclassified? Really curious..)

Such a lively discussion over..... CORN!

Okay wanna tackle the Tomato fruit or Veggie Aurgument?

No, tomatos are fruits. And I didn't say corn was new, I said science was new. You can talk until you're blue in the face, I like to stay cutting edge with my info.

On the upside, I'm about to chaw down on some corn on the cob, yummy style, with my boca burrito - boca burrito with mixed greens in it, the tortilla lovingly fried in just a smidge of coconut oil...I'm so rad...
