(I love the lyrics..."I'm gonnablow this damn candle out..I don't want nobody coming over to my table, I've got nothing to talk to anyone about...All good dreamers pass this way someday - hiding behind bottles and dark cafes....only a dark cocoon before I get my gorgeous wings and fly away...only a phase - these dark cafe days..." I'm going through this now...so I guess this reference is strong in describing how those Stevie pictures look to me. Although...I don't have baby fat and crazy hair! )

All I can say is...that's not "my" Stevie in those pictures. Cocaine - that evildoer - was gripping her in those days.

Boots!!!
No..no "dark cafe days" for you...keep your chin up my friend!!!
LAST TIME I SAW BOOTS WAS IN DETROIT IN 68!!!

I don't know -- I tend to think that if there was anything seriously negative about Stevie (such as forcing Third World children to make her platform boots), someone would've sold her out years ago. All other "juicy" topics... from her difficulties with commitment to the abortion(s) and the cocaine addiction... have been covered.

I heard that her platform boots were actually made from Third World children!

I'm sure she has thrown some major tantrums in her day...

Dude, just think of all the lovers she's had and what they could say about her. Not that I really care about that but she was also quite the partier and has been seen in her worst moments by many people on tour. Still I think she must be a pretty great person overall and people who know her really love her enough not to want to say anything. She doesn't seem to burn bridges (or none for very long at least) but I don't think there's a shortage of dirty laundry in her background to go through.

I don't disagree, but none of that stuff is really "dirt" either. I can't think of a famous '70s rock & roller who didn't party hard and have multiple sex partners. So it just seems to me that, barring any extreme and heretofore unmentioned transgression, anything that someone could say about Stevie would just seem like typical rock star behaviour.

You're right -- she's had a boatload of people in her "inner circle" over the years, and pretty much every one of them has kept her secrets to themselves. They either love her too much to hurt her, or they're scared to death of her!

It is surprising that the enterouge of deadbeats and hanger -ons have not come forth with the dirt.

I think as others have said, that people are tremendously loyal to Stevie. Ultimately, that comes from the fact that she is a decent human being. Even though she has/had moments where she was OTT in her behavior, or even nasty to people, she is the type of person you just forgive of it. I have heard barely second hand trash from people extremely close to her, who still remain close to her. There is no doubt in my mind that she has some crazy skeletons in her closet, but I believe they tend to be extremely personal things. It's not like she has tremendous screeching fits and fires people and treats them like garbage in crowds (ahem, Streisand). She's not that kind of person. So, the dirt, however much there is, just ain't coming out. It is simply not on the scale that is going to generate a scandal.
