I love TV on DVD. I mean, I really love it. It's siiiiiick. There are some great TV shows- and I love having them all together. It makes shows that I already love so much better, to be able to watch it all together and really see the way arcs play out. I love it.

I have:

Buffy the Vampire Slayer- Chosen Collection (Seasons 1-7)
Firefly- The Complete Series
Alias Seasons 1-4
Gilmore Girls Seasons 1-5
24 Seasons 1-3
Arrested Development Seasons 1-2
Scrubs Seasons 1-2
Miracles- The Complete Series
Freaks and Geeks- The Complete Series
Undeclared- The Complete Series
Felicity- Seasons 1-4 (shut. up.)
Northern Exposure Seasons 1-3
House Season 1
Little Britain Season 1
The Office- The Complete Series + Special (BBC)
Twin Peaks- Season 1
Sealab 2021- Seasons 1-2
Home Movies- Seasons 1-3

Edited to add what I forgot:

CSI Seasons 1-2
Veronica Mars Season 1

I think I have more but I'm not at home to check.

There are ones that I want, but I'm too skint- new BBC Doctor Who Series 1 (shut. up.), Battlestar Galactica, The Sopranos/Six Feet Under, Sex and the City, The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., etc. I'm also waiting for an Angel box set like the Buffy Chosen Collection. They were limited edition, PRETTY, and I got all seven seasons for $130.

"arc" is the new buzzword in movie & TV reviewing--"dramative arc," "narrative arc," "character arc," etc. Who keeps raiding this lost arc?

That's because you're old and out of touch.

What, you never watched Northern Exposure? That's more in your timeline.

Hey, the truth hurts! Easy on Grandpa Dave!
He likes Sanford and Son!
And I can't help it, I HATE Lucy, even though ya'all seem to love it. Al Bundy was right, "they should've killed em all off, and made Fred the star, and called it 'Mertz's World'".

Sanford & Son is one of the great 1970s corrosive subversions of what ultimately became PC minority rhetoric, & I think it's a hoot & a howl. You don't know what you're missing, Dave. Don't you love the corruscating W.C. Fields? Sanford & Son carries on that tradition.

The theme song is also the best theme song with a clavinet ever on TV.

Sanford and Son is okay, David. I've seen em all though.
If you've noticed, it seems to me like the sitcoms that are really considered classic, seem to revolve around the characters, NOT the times. S&S, I guess, doesn't really play on "the times" as much as some others(although it does to some extent). I can't recall a sitcom that is considered "classic", where the characters lived in virtual poverty.
Stuff like Good Times, Maude, All in the Family(I wasn't INTENDING to name all Norman Lear projects!) just seem to topical to withstand the test of time.
Just my 2 cents. Your mileage may vary....

My alltime favorite is The Dick Van Dyke Show.

How can you not love I Love Lucy? I don't think anything makes me laugh so much. Nothing else compares to the belly laughs I get from watching Lucy. Although, Ethel and Fred are my favorite characters...

Does anyone here like Resurrection Blvd? I think it's very good. And I'm curious about Curb Your Enthusiasm. I was also thinking to write something about it, in Italy isn't very known, this year it debuted here on cable.

Now that I think about it, I did see that one. I liked it quite a lot--although the two main characters were irritating with their yuppie childishness, the peripheral characters--the DJ, the Indian boy, the sheriff, the diner owner, the wandering moose--were all interesting & amusing.

Exclamation Sadly...

I just cant get into watching seasons of a TV show on DVD, tried it in the past and each time I ended up selling the DVD's (Which I recently did yet again).

My attention span is very short in regards to ANY broadcast...So give me music instead (And yes, I also cannot sit through music DVD's, More of an old-timer who prefers cd/tape over DVD).
