Not many actually sit and listen to their innards for long stretches.

The Pretenders - All My Dreams

AKA I try to love the post-Learning to Crawl, pre-Last of the Independants lineup. I'm a purist.

As long as Chrissie's out front and Martin Chambers is on drums, all's well in my book.

I do think that Robbie McIntosh was the perfect replacement for James Honeyman-Scott, though. Didn't think that Johnny Marr was a good fit for The Pretenders.

Right. Thusly, Get Close and Packed! kind of sucked. Though their cover of Hendrix's "Room Full of Mirrors" is to die for, and some of the songs on Packed! are among Chrissie's best lyrically. Thank god she brought Martin back, and got Adam Seymour on lead.

He was. He really played like Jimmy. Made me think of what he could have done if he were still around. Johnny Marr is amazingly talented, but I agree that he wasn't really a good fit. She was really dipping into the pool of session musicians from '87-'90.

I love the current lineup a lot, though. Second only to the original. They have the greatest punky Sid Vicious-lookalike bassist that really tears the hell out of their songs. It's great.

Currently listening to some guitar tracks for the demos a friend and I are laying down :X
