Thumbs up Laurel Canyon - Fun Summer read!

I just grabbed this book from the library, after eyeing it in a bookstore display. It is very fun so far, and quite well-written. There are several pages talking about Waddy Wachtel and the band he brought to LA with his brother. Fleetwood Mac, and Stevie get a few paragraphs here and there.

The book focuses on the Laurel Canyon scene starting with Zappa, and involving CSN, Geffen, the Byrds, groupies (GTOs) Singer Songwriters, bungalows, pot, acid, and all that late sixties/earlyseventies LA goodness.

I can't believe I typed "Lauren" isntead of Laurel. I am beet red, no smiley could illustrate it. Oh well, it is fixed now, and the book is still good.

Lauren Canyon sounds like a stage name, doesn't it?
It is nice that nobody jumped down my throat about the misspelling. Then again, I suppose few were looking at the thread.

Sounds like a good read. I'll definitely look around for it.

Thanks for the heads up!
