Add Omar Vizquel to my list, shortstop for the Giants.

I don't have a lot of non-Giants or A's favorites, but I like Jorge Posada and Shawn Green.

Not to digress too far from the topic at hand, but I've been luck enough to have seen 2 no-hitters in person in the big leagues. Scott Erickson for the Twins on 4-27-94, and Eric Milton for the Twins on 9-11-99. I'll tell you fans this, I've seen alot of stuff in baseball, including game 7 of the 1991 world series, but there's nothing that compares with the drama of seeing a no-hitter in person. I have both of the scorecard and ticket stubs from those games framed on my wall.

Scotty Erickson..... I always thought he was cute. I remember the no-hitter, too.

The thing about that game that was funny was that outside here that day it was snowing and about 5 inches fell! I remember being all jacked up leaving after the game and seing snow fall. Now that was weird!

I have only attended Cardinals games. I went to two games during 1998, the McGwire/Sosa HR chase year, one being a Cards/Cubs game in September. Neither hit a homer. I did see McGwire hit a walk-off HR against the Astros earlier that year.

I am suprised the new stadium will be an open air design.

As for Scott Erickson, Isnt he a pitcher now in the Yankees bullpen, or do I have him confused with Kevin Appier???

Exclamation Nothing spectacular...

has ever happened at any of the pro games we have attended (Of course the games we attend are at the Triple A level-The Oklahoma Redhawks, affiliate for the Texas Rangers)

But I have seen plenty of weirdness on TV, The 2 that stick out:

Indians vs. Angels from 2000, the Indians were down 14-3 going into the 8th inning and created the best rally I have ever seen, Thus winning the game in the 9th inning 15-14

Cubs vs. Rockies, I want to say it was from 1995 or 1996, the game started as Deb went to work that night, And 8+ hours later after her shift ended it was still being played.

This game included two 2 hour+ rain delays, 2 two 8 run innings by the Cubs, the Cubs batting around 3 times in 9 innings and ended at about 1:30AM CST with the final score of 25-6.

Talking I was watching..

"Baseball Tonight" on EPSN today, And they showed the best "Red State/Blue State" map I have ever seen.

All the states except for New York were shaded in the "Blue" whereas New York was the lone state shaded in "Red". The map was showing the poll results of the following question:

"In the AL East, Which team would you like to see not win the Division?"

States in red were voting for the Red Sox to not win the Division.
States in blue were voting for the Yankees to not win the Division, I guess we can say which team is the least popular team in the US cant we??

Too bad the Yanks beat the Sox again 2-1 tonight.
