Thanks, everyone. Part of me thought it was too soon after Cosmo dying. but then I realized that I didn't go out & look for a cat to buy, I didn't ask people to keep their eyes (teehee) open for a black & white kitten - a one eyed kitty needed a home & we were happy to help.

Nice pussy! Congrats. He is so cute. He does look like Cosmo. You will have a blast with him. Kittens are so much fun. Did you get him a scratching post? Very important. I gave my kitties treats when they were first learning to use it and even now, I still put their treat on top of it. They have never scratched anything in my house (that I know of ) which is great because I was not going to get them declawed. Enjoy him, they grow so fast. I'm so happy for you!

Of course we have a scratching post, do you think we're amateurs or something? Seriously, our other cat isn't declawed so this one won't be either.

Congrats and I love the name! Perfect! He will be eternally grateful and give you lots of love! I've often said that strays make the best pets...it's like they know you are rescuing them...

I am SO not ready yet for another kitty...I never wanted a cat in the first place, he adopted me. So, if and when I'm meant to have another one, it will have to happen the same way. One of the neighbor's cats visits me often, he's a little slut, can't get enough attention. I think his name is Kookaroo? At least I thought that's what the lady said - she lives 2 houses down and we were talking across the yards and driveways. She's got several cats and she calls them all in for feeding time.

They do know you rescued them and I don't think they ever forget. My roommate and I may be moving to another place. If we do, I may talk her into getting a kitten.

Both of my cats are rescue cats...they do love for a lifetime. My girl, Madde, was given to me at 3 weeks. Her mom was hit by a car. I bottle-fed her with vitamin supplements but, since she didn't receive her mother's milk, she is unusually small. She is approx 6 years old and weighs 2 pounds if I put my big toe on the scale with her. Animals are such a joy and it pleases me we have so many animal lovers on The Ledge.

I haven't had time to upload more pics as requested, but I will. Mrs. Bouvier is scomging around, they were playing this morning, although it's still a bit tense. (Wow - I can sense kitty tension? freak...) Bubba is now allowed to sniff kitty's butt, but only for a few seconds & then it's cruelly taken away. I'll tell ya, it's a trip to see a 75 pound dog back away in fear from a 3 pound cat.

sooo cute...my dog recently ran crying away from a 9 week old pug puppy And poor thing - doesn't realize cats don't want to play with her...she has no social skills...my poor dog.

Thanks! We got her name from that episode of The Simpsons where Grandpa wants to marry Marge's mom, but Mr. Burns does too. They do the ending scene from The Graduate, but instead it's Grandpa yelling "Mrs. Bouvier! Mrs. Bouvier!" We usually call her Boo.

Cosmo, btw, was for Kramer on Seinfeld. Bubba came wto us with his name, but it suits him well.
