I love Bob. Saw him in 1996 & he is fantastic live. I had heard that he hasn't toured recently due to vocal problems, but it sounds like there's a chance he may do a short tour to promote a new CD!
http://www.segerfile.com/cdtour.html Reading this fan's webpage made me snicker. Sounds like Mac/Stevie fans aren't the only ones to want more from their artist. I like this guy's attitude. Here's a quote: "What's surprising to me is not that the date changes -- it always changes. What's surprising to me is how readily I fall for it each time. I just wanna believe. Optimism or naivete? You make the call." Sounds familiar? ![]() |

You are so in my head today. First, what you said about the emotion between Steve and Linds during SS on the dance. Then, wait...there was something else...10,000? Anyway, now this! I was thinking about Bob Seger for an extended period of time last night. That's not something I do regularly. And, not because I had heard one of his songs.
That's amazing what the fans said about him, too. Also, when I was thinking about him, I was thinking "I've always really liked him, and he has that voice, the one Stevie has." You'd think they would have met and stuff, maybe done something together. Psychic! Hey, if you wear that shirt (you better wear it! ) can you take a digipic and show me? (that's the other thing I was thinking about).I definitely wouldn't mind seeing the Sege live.

^ Hmmmm...maybe we should drink together via phone tonight! Or do we have to be upset/annoyed/pissed off to do that?
I will wear the shirt, I will take a pic, I promise.Bob rocks live. I remember for "We Got Tonight" that a white baby grand piano came up from under the stage for him to play. Way cool. |

That is pretty cool, and I actually wouldn't like that song nearly as much if he wasn't singing it. It's not a fave, but I still like it. The part "why don't you, stay" is really pretty. My dad had the Bob Seger greatest hits 8 track when I was in jr. high and highschool (don't ask, don't make fun, it was in the car). I loved it. My favorite to sing and rock to was Rock and Roll Never Forgits (or whatev). Lots of his songs make me sad, he really pushes my nostalgia button, which is easy to find anyways. Night Moves - Cry. Against the Wind - SuperCry. That one about the main street stripper - not cry, but sad. That other one where the girl is pretty...uh...Hollywood Nights? - Cry. 70's and early 80's hollywood music talk makes me nostalgic anyways. I feel like it was the best time ever, and I feel the loss though I wasn't there, if you know what I mean. You're probably waiting for your tan to wear the shirt? Yellow...![]()

Seriously though, love Seger! "Roll Me Away" is my theme song Took a look down a westbound road, Right away I made my choice Headed out to my big two-wheeler, I was tired of my own voice Took a bead on the northern plains And just rolled that power on Twelve hours out of mackinaw city Stopped in a bar to have a brew Met a girl and we had a few drinks And I told her what I’d decided to do She looked out the window a long long moment Then she looked into my eyes She didn’t have to say a thing, I knew what she was thinkin’ Roll, roll me away, Won’t you roll me away tonight I too am lost, I feel double-crossed And I’m sick of what’s wrong and what’s right We never even said a word, We just walked out and got on that bike And we rolled And we rolled clean out of sight We rolled across the high plains Deep into the mountains Felt so good to me Finally feelin’ free Somewhere along a high road The air began to turn cold She said she missed her home I headed on alone Stood alone on a mountain top, Starin’ out at the great divide I could go east, I could go west, It was all up to me to decide Just then I saw a young hawk flyin’ And my soul began to rise And pretty soon My heart was singin’ Roll, roll me away, I’m gonna roll me away tonight Gotta keep rollin, gotta keep ridin’, Keep searchin’ till I find what’s right And as the sunset faded I spoke to the faintest first starlight And I said next time Next time We’ll get it right |

What a great song! I can feel the tears already. I've never heard it, though. It does seem kind of like your theme song... I have to say, I'm dying to hear it now. I bet it's all pretty and poignant, and in minor key.

Just hope Dissy doesn't see this thread and decide to join in... Lawd knows he'll go on about how 'heinous' "Turn the Page" is
![]() Sometimes that boy just has no taste at all. I on the other hand, LOVE Bob Seger. He's a great storyteller. His Greatest Hits discs are essentials for any collection. ![]() |

I think it's pretty well established that, especially when it comes to music, I don't care about what's cool.

Love Bob Seger too...! There is no better place in the world to see him live than in Detroit..(his and my own hometown) (well actually Ann Arbor).I first saw him concert the first time when beautiful loser first came out..1975 I think.and never missed a show when he played in detroit until I finally moved away.many years later..He has been on the stage recently with Kidd Rock..in Detroit..and there has been rumours for a while about a new release.....lol sounds like all my faves are the same..lol..promises promises..

You have heard it, it's an awesome song. Have you ever seen Mask with Cher? The whole soundtrack is Bob, and I'm almost positive that this tune is in it - the closing credits perhaps? |
