Default Practically Forgotten Video From The Old Days

How come you never see copies for trade of Mick's full-length feature video of "The Visitor"? They released it on one of those early disc media, similar to LaserDisc. But I've never seen the whole program (which includes great footage of Mick & the Ghanaian musicians performing) & I'd love to.

How come nobody trades this? "The Visitor" contains some of Mick's most interesting, off-kilter drumming, amazingly fresh & unburdened by an opaque production or engineering job.

What other video from the olden days has been practically forgotten?

Oh, I have another one! What ever happened to the video of Fleetwood Mac accepting their awards (plural) on the Don Kirshner Rock Awards in 1978? Some footage of that used to run on the opening credits of the Don Kirshner Rock Concert program, too.

Question

Not sure on the Kirschner but the only copies I've come across of the Mick Visitor doc badly skip (I guess those RCA CED laserdiscs skipped very easily) so they probably don't consider it fair to give someone a video that skips so much you can't figure out what's going on/get in to the performances?

I was always puzzled why this & the Welch/Roxy deal were only released on this format & not VHS/Beta, they just closed themselves off to the bigger (and what turned out to be) better market (until DVD came along that is of course).

Do you remember whether the program was ever broadcast on TV in its entirety--say, PBS or VH1?

I've actually wondered this myself. I would love to see it in its entirety.

Not that I know of, though it may very well have, but you'd think if it had that if anyone "in our community" taped it, it'd have sufaced by now? Maybe not, hopefully one will turn up though (crossing fingers & toes).
